  1. All the journos are talking about this show as if it was the second coming but when I go on youtube to see what they're talking about, there are just a million links to a possibly fake recorded live stream that you need to enter a credit card to watch . . . . were people not allowed to take videos? Are the journos in on it with the venue and the owners of the streaming website? Crazy frustrating.

  2. There's a private road leading to the second one, so maybe it has to do with that also. I looked at pics of both (sorry lanz) and I actually think the smaller, less expensive house is a million times nicer than the big one - it's more remote so the views are amazing and the architecture of the house (huge windows everywhere) plays off that. I agree it's kind of wrong to know so much about her especially knowing that there are people that will do bad things with this information, but I'm kind of a real estate nut and couldn't resist looking. My in-laws live right near there actually, even closer to the house Francesco bought. Would never dream of even driving past them though, it's very conflicting being so curious but also knowing how much she deserves her privacy! So sorry lana.

  3. Agree with the people who are frustrated that she's still playing so many songs from born to die/paradise. Yeah it's great that she's doing Yayo, Serial Killer, Lolita but maybe she could just do Video Games and Summertime Sadness and leave it at that. So many amazing Ultraviolence/Honeymoon songs. Also don't like how all her songs were paced even slower than usual. She slips into her high register when she's nervous and doesn't have the confidence to go low, wish she'd just go for it and use her whole range. Sorry I know there were lots of great things (especially Yayo and Lolita) but I'm really frustrated that like 80% of the concert is just the same thing she's been doing for years.

  4.  You can attempt to pseudo-analyse her lyrics but the truth is "shining like gunmetal" makes no sense however you look at it.

I was really baffled by "you're so art deco" then it finally occurred to me she is just talking about someone in a shiny silver dress. "Shining like gun metal" is just a continuation of that. And actually I love the metaphor "like gunmetal, cold and unsure"

“I wanted Father John Misty to do something with me and he was nice enough to agree to be my leading man,” she said of the 11-minute video that includes Misty’s character dropping acid and going on a dreamy trip, draped in white-clad women.

“The whole thing was inspired by a moving Monet,” Del Rey said, adding that she recruited her sister and her sister’s friends for the clip. “We were shooting with a couple of special cameras and shooting everything in slow motion and taking a lot of time to color it.”

I can kind of see that, I think we all had this expectations it would be about a death cult just because of the provenance of the footage, but I think if you just watch it, it reads more like a simple celebration of hallucinogenic drugs. Although the scene with her in the dark room is creepy af, especially when she wanders out towards the swimming pool and the film keeps jerking and a phantom image appears. I think there are really cool aspects of the cinematography - as others mentioned, the shot of lanz in deep close-up with her trust no one tattoo, there's also something interesting going on in one shot, when she is standing up with FJM and there's a close-up of her face that looks like it's in super sharp focus. I also personally really like the extended shot of her feet. I was also very disappointed that the extra 6 minutes were just a water ballet with Debussy, although at the same time I understand why she did that, the footage really is extremely beautiful, the way the light reflects off the hair and the water, so I kind of get that. As for me I think my favorite lana videos are High by the Beach and National Anthem (and duh, Video Games but that goes without saying). I actually think this one might be kind of up there, I was thinking of all her other videos and there aren't many more I like more than this one. I love the Ride video almost in spite of myself, and Tropico was just an armpit. Born to Die was a little too "polished" for me although I appreciated the "Lana as angry ghost" thing. I wonder how it would look played right after the Music to Watch Boys to video, they might mesh together really nicely.

  6. I think it's going to be some kind of video in full, because of the little emoji she used. i also don't think it would just be a teaser for some other thing because then she would just tease it wouldn't she? in the past she's always just posted teasers, not teased teasers. So I have some hopes. Also she's in New York right now (at least according to her sister's instagram) so I don't know if that's related or what?

  7. This is a huge thread, did we ever talk about that interview from a few years ago, on the radio, where she was asked if blue jeans, born to die, and video games were all about the same guy, and she said yeah, and then the interviewer asked if he knew they were about him and she said "no but his mom knows." Doesn't that only make sense (I mean unless she is lying, which is quite possible) if the guy they're about is dead?

  8. TMZ are such assholes, they keep posting these snarky articles about the situation with goofy looking pictures of Lanz so all the readers can post dick comments about her . . . at the same time they're the ones who probably enabled these two stalkers to find her at her new home since they posted that article a few months ago announcing her recent purchase of a house in Malibu along with pictures and outside views of said house.

  9. How did Lana support herself while in NYC before she got big? I couldn't imagine trying to support myself alone in NYC and buying studio time, costumes for videos, etc. while still having time to pursue music like that.

I've always wondered if Lana ever supported herself by doing sex work? She obviously has a lot of songs about it, people always seem to assume it's just her imagination but I wonder if all her cryptic comments like "I've lived a real life" or things like that are referring to something like that.

  10. Sis... most songs have an identical structure to what you described. Literally the first three tracks on Honeymoon have that structure too. Bohemian Rhapsody doesn't have a proper chorus, it's just made of several verses with interludes bridging them together.

    Oh yes, that too!

Don't agree. Most of her songs have a verse a chorus and a bridge. Maybe there are other pieces sometimes but they're usually melodically similar to the rest of the song.
