I disagree. The "giddy up" and "his cowgirl is gone" lines place it firmly in the country genre for me.

My current conspiracy theory is that Lana's entire discography from BTD until now has been a psychological experiment with the aim of getting young people to think that Christian country music is cool by slowly and gradually indoctrinating them into it and judging by the reactions to this post, it's working very well.

When I say I want Americana I mean I want like 60s Beach Boys drinking sodas on the beach Americana, not yee yee riding on my tractor in my cowboy hat Americana.

Americana and Surf Rock aren't mutually exclusive, especially if you're talking about 50/60s Americana.

Where? Are you implying liking Dolly Parton's hyper feminine style is misogynistic somehow? Dolly is a feminist icon.

Exactly! Long fake nails and fake lashes and big hair. If that's the vibe, I'm down.

I have a twitter about vedic astrology and I'm writing a BIG thread about Lana's vedic chart, it's in portuguese but I tried to write it well so it's easy to translate.
If anyone is interested in reading it:
https://twitter.com/avsimplificada/status/1743761723738239005I feel like it's hard to do Lana's chart when she keeps switching up her time of birth but I appreciate the work you must have put into this!

In other words, I think she will try to think of her fans and fulfil their wishes, but she will also continue to go her own way and evolve with more unpopular directions like country.
It's kind of funny that both of those singles were recorded years ago lol. TMHCR in 2021 and SYTH in 2013.
Part of me thinks that Lana's management basically forced/pressured her to release SYTH, because she never acknowledges it in any way. I think the closest she's come is adding that video of the old lady doing a cover to her IG story. I feel like she released it very begrudgingly or under duress because of how popular it was getting on TikTok. My bet is that her label basically told her that at that point all of them were losing money by her not giving it an official release.

Don't shoot the messenger but after her latest IG posts with the antique mirror, bows in her hair, flower knows palette, angel decals, flower and pink tinsel garlands, etc. I actually think Lana might lean more heavily into the whole "coquette" aesthetic for the next album, maybe just with a more western/country-ish flair to it. The more I think about it the more I think I'd kind of love if she went for this sort of ultra feminine/coquette girl with flowers and ribbons in her hair meets southern/backwoods trailer park kind of vibe.
Edit: This is sort of what I'm envisioning:
-
Part of me still wonders if she'll even show up. I could totally see her skipping the Grammys to stay home and watch Ink Masters or whatever.
-
I have a very strong image in my head of Lana showing up to the Grammys in like a full cowgirl getup with boots and denim jacket with fringe and everything.

You're right but I doubt Lana is one of those more extremist types, I feel like if she was she wouldn't be as into astrology as she is lol.

Most Christians traditionally stick to Israel, there are close networks. But they should just as well stick to Palestine, because parts of the country play an important role in the Old and New Testament (e.g. Bethlehem). And of course it's a Christian virtue to stand with the poor and weak and to reject all forms of violence (some conservatives won't like to hear this).
Pope Francis has literally described Israel's actions in Gaza as "terrorism" and has been calling for a ceasefire, so I'm not sure her being Catholic is the reason.

raspy lower vocals were pure perfection. melody was catchy, great production. i'd be happy if song like that would made the cut to album.
if talking about country album i'm here for psychedelic folk, alt-country, folk rock and baroque folk direction (with few random bops)
Isn't "baroque folk" essentially an oxymoron? Baroque music is known for being grandiose, dramatic and energetic while folk tends to be harmonically simple, low-key and minimalistic. Like Baroque pop works because you can easily make a pop song that has lavish, grand production with dramatic string instruments, etc. But baroque folk? I'm having trouble imagining what that would even sound like. Do you have any examples?

I just can't square this with her singing lyrics like "Jenny handed me a beer" and "You bring the coffee I'll bring the wine" that clearly take place more recently in her life. I also remember a fan bumping into her and Jack at a hotel bar and he said they were drinking beer. I guess it's possible she's in the "moderation management" mode of recovery that says it's fine to drink once in awhile as long as you aren't overdoing it and getting wasted. Like, if you feel comfortable enough and like you can handle it.

Personally I think 20 years is probably just referring to 20 years since she started on the path/journey of being a musician. 2004 is when she moved to NYC and started her music career beginning to write songs and sing in bars and stuff.

Where did I say it's bad? I don't hate all country, I'm a huge John Denver and Dolly Parton fan. I do find it funny that people are denying an acoustic guitar track produced by a man who basically exclusively works with country artists where she's singing about being a cowgirl is a country song. You don't need to sing in an exaggerated southern accent for a song to be a country.
