  1. Like I said, why would he choose and pay to go to an ultra conservative seminary that preaches that the advancement of homosexual causes is a cancer to society if he doesn't agree? If you can give me a logical reason that makes sense when there are PLENTY of seminaries in the US that have much more liberal and LGBT friendly stances, I'd be happy to hear it.
  2. I literally just said I hope the entire album isn't produced by him and some ppl are defending him like he's their family member or something
  3. I'm sorry but he definitely is. Homophobic doesn't have to mean he goes around spitting on gay people or refusing to associate with them. Judah Smith doesn't do that either. Both of them believe that being gay is a sin and unnatural though, he would not be attending one of the most conservative seminaries in the country if he didn't agree with their views.
  4. He attends Westminster seminary, they preach conservative fundamentalist ideals, even by Christian standards. Read literally anything they have written on or about homosexuality. "The very best counter-narrative to gay liberation is the biblical worldview in which heterosexual, monogamous marriage is considered one of God’s most precious gifts." "We read of the month-by-month advancement of the cause of homosexual, as well as bisexual and transgendered people. We risk being rather swept up into the narrative unless we have strong powers of resistance."
  5. After listening a few times I do like the song but I really hope the whole album isn't produced by Luke Laird. After all the drama over putting Judah Smith on her last album I really don't need her working with another homophobic Christian. PLEASE.
  6. Where did I say it's bad? I don't hate all country, I'm a huge John Denver and Dolly Parton fan. I do find it funny that people are denying an acoustic guitar track produced by a man who basically exclusively works with country artists where she's singing about being a cowgirl is a country song. You don't need to sing in an exaggerated southern accent for a song to be a country.
  7. I disagree. The "giddy up" and "his cowgirl is gone" lines place it firmly in the country genre for me.
  8. My current conspiracy theory is that Lana's entire discography from BTD until now has been a psychological experiment with the aim of getting young people to think that Christian country music is cool by slowly and gradually indoctrinating them into it and judging by the reactions to this post, it's working very well.
  9. Only person in this thread who will definitely get what they want.
  10. When I say I want Americana I mean I want like 60s Beach Boys drinking sodas on the beach Americana, not yee yee riding on my tractor in my cowboy hat Americana.
  11. Americana and Surf Rock aren't mutually exclusive, especially if you're talking about 50/60s Americana.
  12. Where? Are you implying liking Dolly Parton's hyper feminine style is misogynistic somehow? Dolly is a feminist icon.
  13. Exactly! Long fake nails and fake lashes and big hair. If that's the vibe, I'm down.
  14. I feel like it's hard to do Lana's chart when she keeps switching up her time of birth but I appreciate the work you must have put into this!
  15. It's kind of funny that both of those singles were recorded years ago lol. TMHCR in 2021 and SYTH in 2013. Part of me thinks that Lana's management basically forced/pressured her to release SYTH, because she never acknowledges it in any way. I think the closest she's come is adding that video of the old lady doing a cover to her IG story. I feel like she released it very begrudgingly or under duress because of how popular it was getting on TikTok. My bet is that her label basically told her that at that point all of them were losing money by her not giving it an official release.
  16. Don't shoot the messenger but after her latest IG posts with the antique mirror, bows in her hair, flower knows palette, angel decals, flower and pink tinsel garlands, etc. I actually think Lana might lean more heavily into the whole "coquette" aesthetic for the next album, maybe just with a more western/country-ish flair to it. The more I think about it the more I think I'd kind of love if she went for this sort of ultra feminine/coquette girl with flowers and ribbons in her hair meets southern/backwoods trailer park kind of vibe. Edit: This is sort of what I'm envisioning:
  17. Part of me still wonders if she'll even show up. I could totally see her skipping the Grammys to stay home and watch Ink Masters or whatever.
  18. I have a very strong image in my head of Lana showing up to the Grammys in like a full cowgirl getup with boots and denim jacket with fringe and everything.
  19. You're right but I doubt Lana is one of those more extremist types, I feel like if she was she wouldn't be as into astrology as she is lol.
  20. Pope Francis has literally described Israel's actions in Gaza as "terrorism" and has been calling for a ceasefire, so I'm not sure her being Catholic is the reason.
