That'd be really cool, but unfortunately what we heard is definitely Sinead's vocals. I really hope that's the case and that we get to hear her cover it some day or other
-
Hi, just wanted to notify you that "Jump in the River" in the Masochism section is just a Sinead O'Connor song (a great one!) Those are definitely not Sky's vocals so it couldn't be a cover either

25 years... ur sick

I'm not exactly feeling much about the new interview, I think it'll all come out eventually and we'll have new Sky Ferreira music. My real concern is what comes after that. I really think the final obstacle for this album is that her entire brand identity is NOT releasing music now. It's to have released music a decade ago. What will she have left when it's out and reviews come out saying it's not the album of the decade? The year? I'm hoping she proves me wrong, but she has spent the better part of the past 11 years being the ingénue who's been silenced by label executives or whatever. I can see why she'd be scared but it's also time to do it and move on. Also she needs to release Descending. It'd be a huge misstep to do yet another come back and not release that song of all songs. All My Lovers Die is probably not strong enough, if it's finished and she has two unique verses with intelligible lyrics.

Feels like an era ended now that we got All My Lovers Die. Our last pieces of end game are Pretty Dull and Masochism full release but yeah. Thanks for the wild ride

I bought an exclusive-to-radio CD of Downhill Lullaby on Vinted a year or two ago hoping she'd revive her career and that it'd gain value. Starting to think even an ugly NFT would have done the trick better
-
I don't mean to be another Debbie downer here but I was very disappointed to see her dodge the vocally intensive parts of Descending... And she's not even sneaky about it just straight up stops... Girl??? What now
-
girlies i'm out of the loop has anything leaked since descending or can i go back to bed

what makes this funniest to me is that if this album exists and comes out, regardless of how good or bad it is, it'll be career suicide. that she's so elusive (possibly a compulsive liar, possibly a drug addict, possibly in an abusive relationship with her label; you name it, we've seen it) is what little she has to call a career. she's so in over her head you can't help but watch in fascinated horror when something new comes out about how silenced she is that said i do think this is fun and a kind of remnant of early 2010s pop music conversation to be having so as an appreciator of trash, i'm VERY entertained

okay i haven't been on here in a while bc idgaf but i just saw the free sky ferreira ig account and tell me why on their latest post they say sky is too much of a threat for other artists signed to capitol like are you SURE beloved
-
I don't think so, but since these fans are so quick to refer to the Free Fiona Apple thing from around 2006, they should know people actually showed up IRL in front of the label's HQ to protest Or at least I hope I'm remembering this right because I'd be embarrassed
-
The fact that we still don't have an untagged version of Descending even after the thread was locked for so long... I just want it so I can be freed from the shackles and move ON
-
what? since when is this the first demo lol i remember hearing a snippet that sounded completely different and less "light". this'd mean that this demo was sitting around since like. at the latest early 2019? and either way it sounds in line with what we heard this summer (down to the intro and all, which isn't present for pitchfork fest's version) we're not seeing it for a hot minute because it's sky ferreira
-
this is so funny to me because i did wonder about whether it'd ruin the first listen for me too and then i remembered this is a song i listened the shit out of almost 3 years ago at this point it seems crazier to care about it. for what it's worth the song is fine and the minecraft music on top of it should be released as standalone

This is pretty good next to All My Lovers Die, but then again anything else is. I'm pretty sure she did the "oh no my ear piece isn't working" thing a few more times. But the responsibility for these humiliating shows fell on her shoulders for sure. She sang Descending way too high pitched. At Pitchfork Fest 2019, it already seemed like it was pushing her limits...

I need you all to break free of the shackles. Capitol is probably stingy as hell, but Sky not having an album ready behind Don't Forget is unacceptable and stupid. It's been 9 years since NTMT. Be serious. Also... that string of live performances she did this year was nothing short of embarrassing. She was unprofessional (always late), kept having technical issues (although this is probably not on her,) and her performances were just... bad. She had to take All My Lovers Die out because she didn't sound good. It's all embarrassment on top of embarrassment (without even mentioning the Don't Forget video debacle.) I'll take whatever comes next, but at this point, getting excited for Sky Ferreira even pseudo-ironically is ridiculous. Life's too short

i very much am, thank you for the kind words

i got help for my severe mental health issues before she even dared to release another single. at this point even liza minelli won't outlive the wait for this album
-
This absolute serve... her best live performance I'm afraid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9H4rxyT0nNk

Thinking about Sonnets / Unrealities XI and the metatextuality in the Björk canon... That song and Sacrifice being thematically linked to Vulnicura makes them SUCH great songs. Possibly the best thing about her discography. It all ties together
-
agree w this wholeheartedly. Very rarely does it read as good faith criticism. Like it really isn't something to take personally that her career's been rife with trouble. Yes, it's been a messy couple of years, but it's still not THAT serious

okay i really don't care enough to be mad because i wasn't there to any of the festival dates, but i would love to know what the hell is happening with her. like i'm sure if she just addressed what's going on and explained people who like her enough would understand. but it's really hard to root for her with these strange displays of unprofessionalism, which only a minority of us were willing to excuse in the first place when they had to do with her not getting an uber to the studio (or whatever?) first, she says the album she's been teasing since 2015 is not done. then, a single drops way too late to gain any momentum without the video because she can't compromise her "vision" (???) and has to learn Final Cut/Premiere/sony vegas (lol) on the spot then, a bunch of the wildly anticipated tour dates happen and all exhibit the same issues. even without her chaotic (euphemism) background, damn. really hate to see it. but i also really think most of you guys take every single one of her missteps a little too personally. let's be stoics and accept whatever finds our way. that's the only way anyone can be in this for the long haul at this point

did i miss something.. how would we know
-
i like the song why'd i even include her..

I think releasing Descending would have made more of a statement and mitigated some of these reactions. But we have to also acknowledge anything she does will be anticlimactic considering there's such a huge mystique that surrounds her and this album. She's been in too deep for 5 years
