  1. taylor’s show was 3hr and 15 min which is insane to think about how she’s going to be doing this for so many dates. swifties are so lucky because lana plays like hour long shows with a decade worth of material 💀

omg I think this is a reference to the Paris, Texas movie :oprah:

    Spoiler

i think it definitely is because in the film the main characters leave instead of confronting their issues. very simplified explanation but both the song and film have similar motifs of escapism, leaving the ones you love for a certain amount of time, then coming back together at the end

  3. Spoiler

i wonder if lana will forever consider california her home or end up moving. all the places she’s been and that’s the one that she’s so emotionally tied and bonded to. i just love paris, texas so much because i’m a wanderer like lana and also have difficulty confronting my emotions so i resort to escapism (mentally, though, because i’m too poor to travel 😭)

ok but “the party’s december 18th” is she hinting at something coming out on december 18th!!! i’m probably clowning

    Spoiler

considering the song is about jack and margaret, i’m gonna guess it’s maybe the date they got engaged, they’re going to get married, or something else celebrating their relationship

It’s the future of music. Perfect imperfections they are raw and a fucking vibe

it seems boring if you start to critic music too much wanting it to be super structured like these work and are amazing…but everyone has different opinions obviously

    Spoiler

again, you’re missing my point. it has nothing to do with structure. it’s strictly the mixing and production of the vocals. listen to the “red flags green” line in fishtails and it’s so jarring. i actually love the melodies of the last three songs but the way her vocals are mixed just sticks out (besides the taco section)

I’m seeing some people saying her vocals aren’t mixed well and she’s kind of hard to understand. I’ve thought the same, at least from hearing Fingertips and A&W. Do you think this is intentional or just a mistake/bad mixing?

    Spoiler

i think intentional since it seems like she’s in her imperfection era as she emphasized that on her bbc interview when talking about the grants intro.

This take is kinda crazy like why are u focusing so much on the production like enjoy these blessings lana has sent your way

    Spoiler

because the production is what’s taking me out of the song? the blending between the sample and lana’s verses was done sloppily. if people can complain about the “boring piano ballads” then i’m going to complain about peppers

  8. Spoiler

okay so i just listened and my top 3 rn is:

    1. paris, texas

    2. sweet

    3. fingertips

this is probably an unpopular opinion but i hate the last four track run 😭  it feels like she only included it to shut up those piano antis. it also bothers me on taco truck how she didn’t re-record the venice portion of the song because you can hear the difference in vocal production styles from the two halves of the song  the way she records her vocals in the past few records have been so different than pre NFR, it almost sounds like she put unfinished demos. idk i feel like she could do so much better with “slutty trap beat” sounding songs. i do, however, love the taco truck section but wish she didn’t include the  venice sample
