    like can we just take a moment to acknowledge that this thread is a few months under a decade old and the amount of music we have gotten from her and the journey as a whole has been such a wild ride and im so proud of her like truly not many artists get to have a journey like this when they're on a major label and i really speaks to her resiliency as an artist and her work ethic. Idk not to be corny but I feel like i've grown up with her since finding her in 2012, it feels so good to watch her have this great moment i'm truly so proud!!!!!!

    literally it’s like backtracking and truly i look at it as her expressing herself and needing to put her thoughts into a song but the last two tracks are underwhelming compared to the record (non deluxe)

    the actual record is so pristine with crisp ass vocals that i actually makes me sad she’s tryna shudder her vocals when they actually go OFF on the album.. 

     

    even every rule ranks higher in my opinion n the says a lot

    okay these are thoughts on the deluxe tracks now that i’ve had more first listen thru

     

    i am actually flabbergasted at the fact that a lot of people are gushing over the deluxe tracks more than the actual album. I am al are looking for surprise or shock value with charli and i think that crash was the perfect switch for her. this is the first album in a while where her vocals are so clear and bottom line she sounds great.

     

    Selfish girl is a fucking bop. i had to listen to it a couple times but honestly she should have had a place in the album tbh.

    SMTWTFS is cute n fun too but it’s just a fun song imo

     

    the other two song sun categorizing together and i’ll prob get sm hate but yolo. these songs literally sounds like they were worked on around HIFN which makes sense since selfish girl was tested last year but like.. idk they have too much grip. her vocals are muffled and you can’t hear her shine. i feel like the last two songs were literally curated in 1 second and released. listen, that’s fine but literally EVER song on this album has a story and fire production and they’re kinda lack luster. maybe after i listen a few more times but it ain’t doin it for me right now.

     

    i think i’m partial though because i love more uptempo songs.

    anyways i’m here to add my two cents in on the deluxe cover. 

     

    my question is where is the table of people telling her. yes and no? i think the deluxe is actually pretty eerie and i do like the skewed view where her hair looks like it’s coming at you and her body is more tapered down. i think the big reason for me why this deluxe looks weird is that… she has no volume in her hair!!! it almost looks like she has a shake n go wig in. flat to her head mama.

    i honestly wish she let the album have its moment and don’t release the deluxe right away l. wish she spent more time perfecting the deluxe tracks they don’t sound nearly is perfect as everything on the album

    she just said that the three producers whipped these songs up in a weeks time and even tho i do like them you can kinda tell… granted i only listened to selfish girl and WHWOEUDBFKSK but they sound like HIFN outtakes with a more peppy kick

    also selfish girl wishes it was a disclosure track. it’s literally BEGGING for a piano drop. if dislocate got their hands on this track they would eat that shit upppp.

    my mom surprised me with it on my bday for christmas and it’s a standard blanket not too soft but it’s def cute decor. i don’t grab for this blanket when i wanna snuggle

    okay soooo… been a long time lurker here since the xcxworld leaks back in the day and finally made and account lmaoooo…

     

    anyway i just wanna put my input in -

     

    the way charli talked about what this album was going to be (literally charlis version of pop) and the vibe i truly think she ate that shit uppp, hard!!! 10/10 album. Best since true romance imo.

     

    i love her pots and pans alt music so much too but like….. this album ateeeeee especially because we didn’t get the first quote on quote full “pop” era, xcx world, this album just gives me everything i’ve ever wanted for her in the GP pop realm. It’s charlis version of pop though and that to me is so sick how she is giving me my spice girls britney gaga whatever pop icon you have.. fantasy. 

     

    anyway album is 10/10

     

    * some stand outs *

     

    YUCK - heard in like october last year and it was the demo that leaked before the album and i was instantly in love. first listen to the new version i was like ummmmm it lost its cute lovey dovey charm. after listening to the album version a few more time i am truly i loveeeee!!! giving me screaming sucker era. her moody attitude really shows on this track and it gives me hella nostalgia

     

    *also didn’t think anyone has caught this yet.. but when charli says “don’t wait up for me” it’s definitely an interpolation of Janet Jackson’s - Doesn’t Really Matter* 

     

    USED TO KNOW ME - People need to clean them ear and give this song the love it deserves. so many pop songs are just samples of old music. i watched a review of this album and the guy said it’s hard to form emotional connections to songs you have prior emotional connections too and i completely agree. Used to know me is special because 1. it’s a fucking BANGER and she sounds like a hypnotizing demon angel baby. The best part is that even the the sound heavily relies on the sample her vocals SHINE through and i already have an emotional connection with this one. (also i am a house head and i can 100% say that i will def hear djs dropping this or their remix’s to this during shows) (diplo remix plz??)

    Any single pop artist could have taken this song and done this. But it’s literally the sell out eta. Almost all pop stars have taken samples of club bangers or what not and have transformed them into new songs to love. This is THE one though. This is going to be summer anthem i’m telling everyoneeeeee. Wait until the video. Charli said 9 looks and i’m kinda hoping for a Spice Girls Who Do You Think You Are inspired video…

     

    CONSTANT REPEAT - flawless. i’ve never heard anything like it. Love that there is no drop and it just continues. flawless 10/1000000

     

    LIGHTENING - I have no words. The bridge guitar is giving me spice girls vibes. They would always includes instrumental in their songs and lightening gives me life with it. 

     

    CRASH - it’s funny that lightening gives everyone TR vibes cuz i actually think the verses in crash give me more true romance vibes. this so it’s SUCH a good album opener btw. 

     

    I could write about all the songs but these are some faves atm.

     

    can’t get enough of this album!!! so proud of charliiiii
