YESSSS I WANTED A MUSIC VIDEO FOR THIS SO BADDD
-
LITERALLY Like, the background vocoder harmony chords, the spacey fizzle that happened before the drop; it's so...BLAND now. I'm still going to be singing it, but I might just listen to the demo...

Okay (not that my opinion really matters) Overall? The album has some good highs, and I think it's definitely interesting. It feels different from her past works, a lot more polished and "professional" sound wise. I do think that the album is held back by a lack of cohesion; a lot of these songs don't feel like they're from the same project (because they're not) and it really takes me out of the experience. There's no linear story or progression, it's just a mixtape. I'm also so confused on the actual sound the album wants to have? Some tracks have this darker feel with heavier synths and chords, then there's tracks that are just late 2000s arp synth pop, and some 2017-2018 pop tracks.

Claws demo 2 lowkey ruining the song for me

How is it June 11th and there's not a follow up single from Alone? Wasn't Alone supposed to be the technical lead? Why are we not getting a follow up?
-
The more and more I listen to the leaks, the more and more I'm actually looking forward to the drop. I still prefer Problematique, but I think some of these "new" songs are actually really good.

It's the way I can imagine a clear music video concept for Uh Oh that would be absolutely fun, but if it does get a video it'll probably be a hot mess

"Everything I drop is a banger" It isn't true, but it's the thought that counts...and the thought is very much making me dance

Day 29483948494 of listening to Uh Oh on repeat
-
I wish we knew more about the situation in general.

I don't think Slut Pop is the worst thing in the world, but I definitely think it's her weakest body of work. FTB isn't necessarily the most cohesive, but the songs still feel like an artistic expression of Kim; whereas Slut Pop felt very much like an EP thrown out for some clicks and shock. It was out of left field, and sure it's good for mindless bopping (the beats are nice), but that's not really the level of artistry I've come to expect from Kim. Yeah her brand has always been bubblegum pop, which could be construed as mindless, but usually the actual format of the songs and lyrical content aren't so...meh. I will say that I feel in recent years her lyrics have gotten a bit more stale, but they're not as repetitive and thrown together as Slut Pop imo.

At least the unholy on the album isn't the same version
-
Been listening to Uh Oh on loop
-
When she took that coat off...the energy
-
Now HOLD up one second Kimberly; where has this been? Uh Oh's chorus??? Okay, maybe this record won't be so bad
-
Wait she kinda did something with Claws
-
Didn't she already say she wanted to put Unholy on her album, but a different version of it? Disappointed, but not surprised at the announcement. The cover art is alright I guess, I'm not living for it; still not a fan of the concept either. I'm just happy that we can at least listen to Hit it From the Back properly

Tbf, that rant was either right before or roughly the same time IJWAR came out, and then brr came out way after that. I just assumed she had her twitter meltdown, came to her senses (or the label did), and were going to try and get him off her tracks
-
Still devastated over the album title and theme, and was seriously hoping with IJWAR and brr that she'd be moving away from Luke

All I Need is You? Just...no words. The chords, the vocals, the lyrics; it gives me GOOSEBUMPS. I want to sing along, I want to cry with it, I want it to be on the playlist of my life. Kesha really did that; this is her magnum opus, no questions.
-
I mean...she did sign with them willingly

Again, this is a case that needs to be studied. Hit after hit, an amazing discography, then just absolute spiral.

I think an 80s rock album would totally fit, but I also love hearing her in more vibe-y tracks.
