I'm loving Jessie Ware at the moment! Her album Devotion is unlike anything out at the moment. It has Lana-esque moments but it has a very retro electronic sound, but very chilled. It's one of those rare albums that you can play from start to finish without skipping. You should check out songs Sweet Talk, Night Light, Running, but Taking in Water is the heart of the record... just listen...
I just...

I remember in January when Born To Die the single was smashing the charts. I dismissed her immediately. Who does that Paloma Faith look-a-like waste of space think she is? I never even heard the song all the way through. I just considered it another pile of garbage like everything else on the charts.
Cut to a couple of months later and I catch abit of the Blue Jeans video, and it startled me!
I thought hmmm I like this. I pretty much forgot about it till a week later while i was browsing itunes, played the snippet, bought it and LOVED IT! Being piss poor at the time I *cough*illegally downloaded the album*cough* and, even though it did take awhile for me to get into a few tracks drifting in between the stellar beginning and stunning finale of the album... I literally fell in love with the girl with the big lips, long nails, bouffant hair, silky voice and one hell of a captivating style!
I couldn't believe what I heard playing Video Games (which hadn't even heard when it was a hit everywhere last year! that bypassed me all together!) and Off to the Races, and Radio, and Lolita, and Without You, and Summertime Sadness... IT WAS LIKE SEX TO MY SOUL!!!

I wonder if Lana will ever be extremely huge....
I hope not. It's destroyed Rihanna. Cannot bare to listen to anything she's released since Only Girl...

"The new record or whatever you call it is out".
Lana feeling so enthusiastic lol.
Haha anyone else takes this attitude with their projects would so lose my respect -
yet it just adds to Lana's persona and you can't help but just fall for that "I don't give a sh*t" approach!

Lovely performance, the high notes, the dress, the lighting, hair without fringe, and the ending spot on!

Ya'll severely wrong!
When I reveal to you the true genre of Miss Del Rey you're gonna be like why has it never occurred to me before?!
Are you ready?
Drum roll....
The genre of Miss Lana Del Rey...
... is...
AMERICANA MELANCHOLIA!

She's selling better than I anticipated here in the UK with no promo. I walked into HMV yesterday and there was only 4 copies left (believe me when I tell you there was multiple shelves of the album at the start of the week!)... if she was to score a performance on the X Factor next month THE ALBUM WOULD BLOW UP!
And as for these Floptina comments, I am gutted because Lotus is a great album but it appears she's aiming for another Bionic bomb ... but what did she expect? She needs to hitch that curvy butt of hers over here and belt like her career depended on it (which it does!) on national television!

It looks like the opening page of a fairytale book!
I remember the day I went out and bought the journal, the video for Ride had just premiered and I was like, "Ok page 1... quote THE DEL REY!"

This is the first page in my most recent journal...
Nothing special but it's cute, right? :smiles:

I thought I was the only one that HHHHHHATED the fringe!
Gurl needs that forehead proudly on show.
Later... with Jools Holland (27/11/12)
