I've heard that you would have to delete your main IG account, if you ever wanted to delete the threads app. I truly just use IG mainly for DM-ing at this point

I’m all for competition, especially when every social media company seems to be imploding at the moment, but I honestly rather be on Elon-run Twitter than anything run by Meta/Facebook/Zuckerberg. All of Meta’s apps are a privacy nightmare.

I’ve been on twitter for more than ten years, I really dislike what it has become but I’m so attached to it, I’m hesitant to give mastodon or threads a try.  I guess I’ll wait a little longer and see… This is like the third time within 12 months I’ve seen people freak out and run to alternative platforms. Sometimes I think Musk bought Twitter because he just hates it all and wants to ruin it.
