The Order Of LDR's Albums Discussion Thread

About Paradise being an EP…

it was a common practice, for music labels, 10 years ago, to « hype » for a second time an album, a couple of months after its release, by releasing an EP. Gaga was doing it with the Monster EP, Lana also… Today, labels prefer having a « Deluxe addition » a couple of months after release.
paradise is considered by Lana herself being a new album (although it’s debatable, what should or shouldn’t count as an LP with her: she considers Violet a full LP, but not Interscope), and with a song short (for the Deluxe version) to be technically considered a full LP, it’s hell of a long EP, and it feels like it’s its own thing.

Paradise is an EP,

Paradise is not 35 minutes long,

Paradise at time of release was marketed as an EP / Bonus Disc to the Reissue of Born To Die.

I love Paradise, It being an EP doesn’t diminish it’s beauty!

I don’t understand why people argue that it’s an LP???

Honestly at this point, it doesn’t really matter, unless one loses its mind when Interscope advertises her albums (like did someone lose their shit when they saw « the 9th album » on OB’s Target poster?)

I just can't believe this when the album cover literally says "ninth"
with the screenshot you provided to end the paradise ep truthers and the screenshot of Lana calling BTD her first record, i feel like the order should be:

1. Born To Die

2. Paradise

3. Ultraviolence

4. Honeymoon

5. Lust For Life

6. Norman Fucking Rockwell

7. Chemtrails Over The Country Club

8. Blue Banisters

9. Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd

10. X

um hellooo?!?!?! The Fame =/= The Fame Monster

and Paradise =/= Born To Die

OFC they're counted separately. Because in every aspect other than maybe RUNTIME?!?! (If you even want to try and make music that methodical [especially Lana's??])
They're treated as their own bodies of work. Eras. With accompanying stylistic choices, videos, physical releases, and more. Don't be a fool!

no one's saying it's an LP, but no matter how much you try to count it out based on the EP technicality, she and her labels count it as a major standalone album release in her discography. and she said born to die is her first album several times, she does NOT count AKA. your "factual" order is NOT facts!

pff they are just trying to say because it's an EP it's not counted. it wasn't a traditional EP, it got singles, music videos, performances, major release and a film. that's an album baby. and it has 9 tracks if you count burning desire.

the nonsense to think she counts AKA when she only started acknowleding it like very recently and INTERSCOPE/POLYDOR who has nothing to do with that album would consider it part of her discography? please...

An EP is classified as less than 30 mins and 4-6 tracks. Paradise has 8 (even 9) and 33+ mins making it an album

also it was changed to be an album on spotify by lana and her team
