Lana Del Rey Is A Popular Choice With Spotify Listeners

Recommended Posts

If Lana Del Rey wants to know why people have stopped buying her albums, then it’s probably because they’re listening to her tracks on Spotify.

Since it’s often cheaper and more convenient to simply subscribe to various streaming services than it is to buy a slew of albums these days, many folks have simply stopped listening to music the old-fashioned way. Instead, they turn to companies like Spotify when they’re ready to rock out.

According to the folks Digital Spy, Lana Del Rey is one of the top female performers on the streaming service. In fact, only Rihanna and Katy Perry are more popular than the “Video Games” singer.

If you’re at all curious to hear the songs that are keeping Lana Del Rey’s work company on the service, then take a look at the playlist embedded below. Even if you skip through some of the tracks, chances are there’s something in there that will appeal to your musical sensibilities.

In addition to Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Lana Del Rey, other popular female performers include Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Pink, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift. In other words, the playlist contains singers you’ve probably read about in abundance over the past several months. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that whatsoever.

The Inquisitr previously reported that Del Rey is preparing to unleash a new batch of tunes in the coming weeks. If all goes according to the singer’s master plan, then the record should hit retail shelves on May 1.

Idolator reports that Lana is keeping details about the project under wraps for the moment. Although a tune from Ultraviolence recently appeared online, Del Rey isn’t saying too much about her latest effort at the moment.

“It’s so good that it made me forget about the last record. I’m in love with it, there’s something about it,” she recently explained.

While it’s difficult to find any concrete information about the upcoming album anywhere online at the moment, Lana Del Rey reportedly tapped The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach to help out with some of the tunes. His involvement with the singer’s endeavor is surprisingly considering he didn’t have many positive things to say about Lana in 2012.

Auerbach infamous said of Del Rey’s longevity:

“On some level, we’ve seen that Lana Del Rey thing since we first started, like, all of a sudden this new band would be headlining festivals, and we’re like, ‘Wait, how did they get that? We’ve been here for two, three, four, five years and we’re still working our way up. But then they’re gone. Just as quickly as they get up there, they disappear.”

Are you surprised that Lana Del Rey is one of the most popular female performers on Spotify these days?

From the article:

"Lana’s new album was rumored to be released on May 1 but right now we do not have an official date confirmed for Ultraviolet."

"While tracks like “In The Sun,” “Put Your Lips Together,” and “Betty Boop Boop” seem polished, there are those unreleased tracks that sound like they were in the very beginning stages of creation for Rey’s Ultraviolence album."
