Happiness is a butterfly Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 So it is true that Ultraviolence is going to cleanse the fanbase from the bandwagoners :dead: 3 Quote

SweetLikeCinnamon Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I think blindly fawning over something is pretty basic It was a joke for all the people not liking it... 0 Quote
IamWhatYouDesire Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I really really like it ! So excited ! 0 Quote
HelixSpirals Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 My thoughts are: YAAAAAAAAAAS BITCH YAAAAAAAAAAS In all seriousness though, I love the song and I'm glad it's a single I can't wait for the video tbh 0 Quote
Trash Magic Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 3 Quote "It's 2011, and we should all be aware of exactly how fast technology is developing" - Lana Del Rey
Kommando Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 The song is also good in that it allows Lana to merge her hardcore fans with her mainstream audience, 'cause she uses iconic elements of her mythology like the whole Jim thing, or NY or even some expressions like sirens or whatever. I'm so ecstatic 1 Quote
pdotcw Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I agree with those who said that the lyrics are weak. There's something in her words is still beautiful, but not enough to make it up for the entire song. To be honest, her writing in this era is just not that strong anymore. Hope that the other songs in the album will change my mind. But maybe that's what she's going for. It is unlistenable, not sonically but lyrically Btw, the spoken part is very good though 0 Quote
Constantine Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I think I got used to the live version so this sounds weird on first listen. 0 Quote
KillKillQueen Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 There's something very National Anthem about the spoken part, but the lyrics (though not her strongest) are 100% Lizzy Grant (I'm surprised no one connected the "I can hear the sirens" line to May Jailer, etc) 1 Quote
Limelight Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 The live performance slayed me, but I am not really feeling the studio version (yet!). I'm currently listening to it for the first time and I already like it, but I'm sure it will grow more on me after a couple of listens. I just think she shouldn't have used so much effect on the song. 1 Quote
Atom Heart Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I love the lyrics but the production could be better. Her live vocals are very strong but the in studio vocals are kind of too mellow and chilled out. Shades of Cool is better vocally imo. I love the lyrics but the production could be better. triangles19 Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I have to say something. It's not because we don't like her new music that we are stupid Rihanna and other guetta fans. I love music, my idole are Björk, Robert Wyatt & Tanya Tagaq so PLEASE don't say I don't have any taste. We all are differant, but UV era is just pop/rock please calm down. Don't be snob. [but I like her new songs, I'm just disapointed] 2 Quote
EP10 Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I really like this song, but the live version she did had this one note in the beginning when she sang "Jim brought me baaack", the live version she sang "back" in a really melodic way, and the recorded version it's sung differently. That was one of my favorite lines from the live song, it just sounded so good. Hope that made sense 3 Quote
HEARTCORE Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 honestly, i thought she was having sex during the bridge because it was sensual and seductive 0 Quote
Jake Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 It sounds like a less good version of Raise Me Up Alright just because she says "raised me up" in the song doesn't mean it sounds like it at all 0 Quote ~ sort of ~
WilleoSoeurs Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I think I got used to the live version so this sounds weird on first listen. When they were playing it, i thought it was some session or live recording 0 Quote
