Mansfield, MA @ Xfinity Center - June 9th, 2015

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, last time I posted the board went down, but I figured I'd post my experience at the concert anyway.

So, after debating over how I was going to camp out for Lana, I arrived at the Xfinity Center at 7am-ish. There were already a small crowd of people there, and I was marked 17th in line. It was expected to rain that day so I had an umbrella and rain gear, but luckily for me it never really rained that hard at all.

I waited until about 4-5pm when the VIP Nation people came, and the regular GA pit people were separated from the VIP ticket holders. Because I had a silver VIP ticket, I stayed with the VIPs, and was bumped up to #8! I was beyond happy, and after getting my VIP merch, waiting to go inside, I had made it the front row of the pit!! When Lana came out, I was ready to die, she was so close! I had made her a card, and when she came down during one of her first trips I managed to hold it up and catch her notice, and she took my card! She didn't do much else during this time except sign and take gifts, but that was my main goal. She ended up coming down to the pit 3(!!) times, and 2/3 times were at my side! The 2nd time she came down, I got her to sign the lyric book I had bought at the merch table, and she told me she loved me.

Overall, it was worth the wait. The concert was lovely, so much crowd interaction, and Lana seemed to get nervous at how loud and happy the crowd was to see her, she asked for a cigarette during the performance lmao (she also said we were the loudest yet, I don't know about that statement, but everyone sang along verrrrry loudly). I am beyond happy I got to meet her and to talk to her, even though I didn't get the coveted selfie, I wasn't exactly shoving my phone in her face. She got really into OTTR, and said she was thankful to the crowd for their support. Someone made her a Honeymoon sash and flower crown, but she didn't wear either of them ahah. The fans I met throughout the day were really nice, and the pit was actually quite relaxed then the previous venue I went to last year (House of Blues). It was pretty amazing.

Hey, I was actually the girl in front of you in line who stood next to you in the pit haha.  It was great meeting you and I was so happy that Lana took your letter!

I had silver vip and got to the venue with my friend around 7:15.  I was 15th in line but became 6th once the vips were divided into their own line.  To reiterate what everyone else was saying, it was a huge mess trying to figure out what was happening for those with silver vip.  One venue worker who was extremely irritated (he just had to deal with a group of people fighting in the general admission pit line) told us that he had no information about vips and said we needed to split up into 6 lines for bag check.  Luckily everyone agreed to remain in the one line and keep our spots.  Once Natalie from VIP Nation came and gave us our wristbands, everything went smoothly.

Once escorted into the pit I was able to get the front right by the bottom of the stairs.  It didn't really hit me how great my spot in the pit was until she came on and I saw how close she was.  The show was amazing.  I have plenty of favorite singers that I love to listen to, but Lana is one of the few artists who's songs I feel on a deeper emotional level.  Hearing her live is always mesmerizing for me.  Although this wasn't my first Lana concert, it was my first time being in the pit.  Not sure if it was because I was against the barricade and had something to grip, but it really wasn't that bad.  I ended up getting a lot of great footage but rarely captured entire songs because I didn't want to get sucked into staring at my camera screen rather than her.  Right before Born to Die she said we were "one of the best, loudest, most energetic shows".  When she came down the stairs after Off to the Races I managed to get a selfie! I almost got knocked out by the guy behind me though that wanted a picture with her so badly that he smacked me in the head with his phone as he reached his arm out.  I was actually the last person she stopped for before she went back up the stairs and exited the stage.  My friend said that as Lana was taking a selfie with me, someone next to her reached out and pulled her hair :(  I'm just grateful she still stayed to take the picture even as all that craziness was going on, can't even imagine what that's like!  All in all the entire day was fantastic and I can't wait to see her in concert again!

Hey!! That's so funny that we were able to find each other again. I feel like we all left in kind of a daze (I don't even recall if we even said our names or anything ahaha). I remember you filming too, you must have gotten some great stuff. You guys were so nice, thanks for making all the waiting bearable. I'm so happy you were able to get a selfie!!

Yeah I was definitely way too elated to know what was going on as I left haha. Thanks for being so chill and awesome :). I did manage to get some good footage, thought I'd share the video I recorded of Brooklyn Baby below. It starts off blurry but my camera finally focused as she began singing. The only annoying thing is the girl behind me who was yelling the lyrics at some points but hey, at least she was having a good time haha.

No problem! I'm very thankful that we all survived ahaha. What a great video! You're way more steady than I would have been. My friends who were in the lawn seats said they could see us on the big screen when Lana came down the stairs, which is crazy.
