delreyfreak Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Still not loving this title at all. "Norton" sounds like a person's name and every time I hear the title I think of a person named Norton being burnt over a campfire. Omg that sounds so morbid but it won't leave my head 6 Quote

slayLANAslay Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 That's perfectly hilarious!!! "Words move, music moves Only in time; but that which is only living Can only die. " Love this part and the references to Rose gardens and lotus and birds. Timeless themes, makes me think of 'bird and flower paintings' from 18th century Asian painters 2 Quote
Valentino Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 It even runs on Windows 3.1, for that ~*~retro vintage aesthetic~*~ Calling it now. Honeymoon will be vaporwave inspired. She's already got the tracky tropical part down, after all 9 Quote
slang Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 To call a song by the name of a famous poem, where the name doesn't really make much sense to the average pop fan, is interesting. LDR didn't quite do this for Body Electric, which I don't think uses any part of the poem except (part of) the poem's title, and that title is pretty pop (or at least meaningful) to most pop fans. She might do the same kind of a thing for Burnt Norton, but what would the song content be if not part of the poem? @@evilentity 's chemical burn suggestion? The weirdest case scenario would be an oratorio or cantata setting the entire poem (all 5 parts, which would definitely keep her and Keefus Ciancia busy for a while). However, even if the song turns out to be based on just part of the poem, that would be really neat. Joni Mitchell did some songs based on Kipling poems, and Kate Bush did a (revised) song based on Joyce prose, so there is some precedent. 3 Quote
KillKillQueen Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 The song is a single, and the poem serves as a pretentious monologue for the video/interlude on the album? 2 Quote
