Thunder Revenant 20,936 Posted September 15, 2015 I love how she thirsts over the guy for the whole song and then decides that he can wait, because she wants to eat some ice cream first. 25 Quote Just do it. Just do it - don't wait!
C0neyIslandKing 2,206 Posted September 16, 2015 I think perhaps after "dying by the hand of a foreign man" it may be "happily" instead of "I believe"?
evilentity 13,341 Posted September 16, 2015 I'm italian and I'm almost sure that what she's singing in the chorus is "calciatore" (football player) and not "cacciatore" (hunter) I've paid more attention, she said Calciatore not cacciatoreI could be wrong, but I think some of you native Italian speakers may be giving Lana too much credit with her pronunciation and knowledge of Italian. Ciao, amore, chicken cacciatore. These are like the next three most basic Italian words Americans know after pizza and spaghetti (which I'm almost surprised she didn't mention). Honestly, even though it sounds beautiful, these lyrics are really clumsy. A-a-a-a-a-propriazione... 11 Quote Stalking you has sorta become like my occupation. ILostMyself 171 Posted September 16, 2015 I hear "shady blue" instead of "baby/city blue". Also I'm pretty sure she says "soft ice creams", plural, in the chorus.

I do hear that too but she sounded like that in other parts of the songs randomly and I assumed it was because of her lips or idk

ILostMyself 171 Posted September 16, 2015 It's "all the lights in Miami begin to gleam" Yeah, I hear "gleam" too now! - And I am 100% sure now it's happily as there is no "v"-sound when she sings it. She sings it weird tho haha Now you've pointed it out I totally hear shady blue actually! It's so weird how that works haha
ILostMyself 171 Posted September 16, 2015 i have another suggestion for improvement... How about we actually introduce her favorite color into the lyrics as she mentions it so obsessively? GangstaBoy 3,930 Posted September 16, 2015 The lyrics are both nice and terrible The bridge is really pretty + 'dying by the hand of a foreign man' is now one of my favourite lines ever BUT Beatboxing and rapping in the summer rainLike a boss, he sang Jazz and Blues This is honestly so bad
annedauphine 35,812 Posted September 16, 2015 I'm really blown away by how sultry this album is and uh, being French, the line "dying by the hand of a foreign man happily" reminds me of the expression "la petite mort" which means "the small death" and stands for "orgasm". So, maybe far-fetch and I'm sorry to have to be the one bringing this up haha but this is how I feel now with this in mind: it's the story of a girl that craves for a man because she can't have it, for his fame, for his exoticism, then when she finally have it in the bridge, she simply passes to other priorities, she's playing with him. I love this so much because for once she's not the one being played, she's in control and having the fun of her life. I really think it's my favourite of the record wow

I think this lyric is intentional double entendre for, um, manual stimulation. Or in the parlance of this forum, he slayed her pussy. "Soft ice cream" may be innuendo as well. Fun fact: Lizzy's 2008 Mercury Lounge performance was as an opener for Moby's side project The Little Death, and is the basis for her claim to have shared the stage with Moby. The drummer for The Little Death was also her drummer in Lizzy Grant and the Phenomena. 8 Quote Stalking you has sorta become like my occupation.
