annedauphine Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 So this thread is basically for when to share some music, Lana or not; either an artist you love, an artist you just discovered and fell in love with, a song in particular with a backstory, a question about an artist that doesn't have a thread and that doesn't need to have one... It's like with the status updates, but more in depth! The idea is that there is not enough people stanning to create a thread but you still want to talk about it and discuss it more in depth than in SU, and you could share some music news about releases and stuff I guess? Perhaps this will flop but I would have tried lol EDIT: and it's also to ask questions about artists that don't deserve a thread made I think I'll start with the three reasons I made this thread lol. First I thought this would be bad but it's HAUNTING. I fucking love it. Listen to the chorus. It's insanely good for some reason?? Second of all I haven't even saw the movie but this is my favourite cinema scene of all time, it's the most perfect example of the inclusion of a song to tell a story urgh. I love that they have a Quebec accent too, it would be less good in French And third of all anyone here loves dodie??? I fucking love her music. But I'm OBSESSED with lofi and folk author songs so 4 Quote
annedauphine Posted September 25, 2018 Author Posted September 25, 2018 Anyone loves Tessa Violet cuz I'm OBSESSED w this song but idk if it's worth listening to the others... I only tried Haze but didn't liked her voice on it, although Haze is from 2016 and Crush is from 2018 3 Quote

annedauphine Posted September 25, 2018 Author Posted September 25, 2018 Also anyone watches Conan videos here? I've been for a bit over a year now. He's typically the reason I made this thread, there's several of his songs I want to share but not enough to make a thread. I'm so sad he doesn't tour the Canada but I'm so happy for him about the EP Basically if you like lofi and folk it's for you. He's similar to Cavetown except musically Cavetown is a million times better imho. He's also a Lana stan, he covered her several times My personal favourite cover of his is definitely Suburbia, he's the one that got me into Blue Neighbourhood 1 Quote

PARADIXO Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 So I love discovering music and listening to new records every year... but I swear this year was SO shitty musically. I haven't liked a single album. What are your favorite albums from this year? Please no Cardi B, Charlie XCX, Dua Lipa and that stuff. 0 Quote

Mine are Isolation by Kali Uchis, My Dear Melancholy by the Weeknd, Astroworld by Travis Scott, On The Run by Young Thug - I like kind of chill music like that but I would say they are pretty solid albums where all the songs are good or at least has a consistent vibe throughout. The rest i've heard are quite mixed of some good and not good - NBA Youngboy i'd also say all has mixtapes/albums/eps whatever he calls them are good also they're like R&B hip-hop though. 0 Quote

I don't really follow music news / records, which is why I made this thread to discover more stuff, I usually discover all my music with YouTube recommended. But I think my fav album of the year is Lemon Boy by Cavetown. Which was released January 1st lol so that counts. I made a thread for him, I'm unbelievably obsessed and I'm gonna push him until everyone listens 0 Quote

Greenwich Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 I'm looking for Italian music if anyone knows any? Preferably female... I've found that I don't like most Italian music but I am certain there is some female Italian pop singer that I have yet to fall in love with. Thx 0 Quote
