i'm on the second book in the ACOTAR series

I've been in my romantasy era lately :flutter:

I can't lie, the writing is kind of terrible (especially for the first book of ACOTAR). But it's also SO addictive and i can't stop. I finished the whole ACOTAR series, then Fourth Wing, Dance of Thieves, and now I'm starting on a few other series too

Usually I read classics, but this genre are so easy to read, light, and entertaining, it really makes me feel better about life

Rn I'm reading Cosmos, Neuromancer and The Tuesday Night Club. There's more in the "currently reading" pile but I'm not in the mood for them right now :crai:

I am in desperate need of books to read. I don’t even know where to start. I admittedly hardly ever read. I read Jane Eyre and the Color People last year. So I guess I like female protagonists?

Shirley Jackson's The Bird's Nest, a novel released in 1954 talking about Dissociative Identity Disorder... I couldn't believe it. Amazing book that I like better than We have always lived in the castle.

I really loved this novel from her! It was the third (my first two being Castle & The Haunting of Hill House). I was diagnosed with DID a few years before I began reading her books, and The Bird's Nest was one I was anxious about but ended up absolutely loving. She writes it so well! I love the ambience of dread she creates in her works, and all the little ways she makes it different for each part of Elizabeth. The ending had me chilled for weeks after!
