6 minutes ago, bluechemtrails said:It's her show, she can perform any songs she likes. Fans should finally accept her choices and not constantly question it. I think it's still a good mix of songs that her fans like and songs that she's passionate about.
I agree with this especially for her own concerts/tours but she should also be mindful about the audience at festivals in particular. She obviously should care whether the audience enjoys the show.

You know what... Ive been thinking about it and Bartender + Interlude, Hope is a dangerous thing, Arcadia and the extended version of Candy Necklace really have no place in a FESTIVAL set list - especially one as big as coachella. Most people in the audience arent stans and wont know those songs... all they do is take up a lot of time and kill any momentum. I dont know what the hell shes thinking. To shorten West Coast to less than half the song (the majority of which she didnt even sing) and then spend ages singing Bartender makes absolutely no sense. There are many other bigger songs such as Blue Jeans, National Anthem, Brooklyn Baby, Shades of Cool, Venice Bitch and Thunder (to name a few) that would fit better and that general festival goers might actually enjoy. I still think venice bitch with the fireworks is the perfect closer and I have no idea why she scrapped it

The Grammys not including Lana in their Coachella post is insane she's literally the headliner https://www.instagram.com/p/C5t1OthR2_I/?igsh=MW1mbXc1cTRzeGtwMQ==

I was surprised she came out to Gangsta by Kehlani considering she really came for Lana around QFTC and the looting vids. Even more surprised at Kehlani commenting on tik tok that Lana invited her to perform with her at coachella but she “couldn’t make it”

Damn the Guardian really dragged her for no good reason? Sounds like it was written by someone who hated Lana before even watching the show. Maybe still thinks she’s a Zionist or whatever. Honestly her vocals were good and she looked stunning. Her vocals were especially strong on the Ocean Blvd songs. I don’t get why people are complaining about her vocals when this is exactly how she’s performed at all those festivals in 2023 too. My only issues are the set list and over reliance on playback vocals and the audience. But other than that I thought it was really great.

I feel like its gonna be a 2019 Hollywood Bowl type performance where she brings out a lot of collaborators
She will 10000000% definitely do Margaret with Jack, and probably Let the Light In with JFM and SOTB with Taylor Swift
At coachella 2014 she debuted west coast so i would say its pretty likely she could debut a song from lasso

The way Coachella keep using official footage from her 2014 show in their promos but it was never publicly released...

Starting to get the sense that the academy dislikes Lana rather than loving the other nominees… like if you remove boygenius from the categories I still think they would have given the Grammys to anyone other than Lana :/

If Lana would just go back on SNL and perform like she usually does these days then she would prove all those people wrong! Imagine an Unchained Melody type performance but live on SNL… oh wow
-
Not to be a bitch but she has no chance at winnging anything other than maybe alt music performance. Would not be surprised if she didnt win any tho unfortunately. Boygenius have been campaigning super hard (i do not get their hype AT ALL)

1 hour ago, FWR Aaron said:I wasn’t really sure where to post this (or if it'd even be OKAY), so thanks to @Elle for pointing me in the right direction.
Up until spring of 2023, I had a YouTube channel called For Whatever Reason, on which I documented my first listens to NFR!, COTCC, BB, and the first half of DYKTTATUOB, song-by-song. Frankly, I prided myself putting out videos that were atypical of the run-of-the-mill "reaction" channels out there, which seemed to be full of clickbait-y titles, and had thumbnails of people screaming and/or exploding. I wanted my stuff to be more about actual music exploration, appreciation, and community. I aimed to be genuine and thorough, and a lot of my videos were on the longer side, because I'd often play not only the album version of a song, but also live versions, along with occasional supplemental material, like interviews or making-of-the-song type-stuff.
The channel did well, but it took up FAR too much of my time, and I needed to shut it all down in April to focus more on my family and my mental health. I received a lot of messages asking me why I didn't just leave the YouTube channel alive, even if I'd stopped making videos. The answer is that I KNOW myself. I would have been tempted to dive back in to comment sections, and I'd have felt the pull to dedicate more and more of my time to it.
I've been doing a lot of reprioritizing (and therapy) in the interim, stepping away from almost all social media, but I've made all of those old Lana videos available on my Patreon, which is basically on auto-pilot, and doesn't require a lot of day-to-day maintenance from me. I’ve now got all four of the LDR albums that I listened to on YouTube grouped as Patreon “collections” (which are similar to playlists). There are some non-album tracks there, too. Access to everything is a buck.
As I write this, I STILL haven't listened to the back half of Tunnel, nor have I heard any of Lana's pre-NFR! output. My hope is that I'll eventually get back to exploring her career, but at a more sustainable (slower) pace, and in a way that I could still share those first listens, without it compromising my duties as a husband and dad. I'm just not there yet.
At any rate, thanks in advance if you decide to check any of this stuff out!

Omg its awesome to see you here, welcome to lanaboards! I loved your Lana vids but totally respect your decision and reasons for stepping back. Hope to see more reactions from you some day
