  1. Music is a state of mind. Either it hits you or it doesn’t.

When DL was released it was hyped by Ariana fans on Twitter - this way I found out about this song. The title sounded interesting and I listened to it - it didn’t touch me at all. But anyhow Spotify played it automatically when one of my playlists was over and all of the sudden it hit a nerve. The lyrics are great.

Maybe it was just people‘s curiosity what a song called Drivers Licence is about...

Maybe it was luck or being in the right place at the right time...

Or maybe just maybe people really love it and that’s why it breaks records...and it sure can help when other big artists mention your name too.

But I guess many still know her from the High School Musical series and its soundtrack. This stuff is well-known by millions worldwide.

And she is definitely a better singer than Lorde or Billie as some brought them into play. And hotter.

  2. I am obsessed with DL too and can’t wait for a debut EP/LP. I just noticed that Taylor recommended her, so maybe this is why people listen(ed) to the song and why it became that huge...but I mean it is a fucking good song.

  3. She should have released a Live DVD to her Sweetener Live album last year.

The Netflix movie felt pretty rushed and hectic. Don‘t like the film editing much. The backstage stuff was a bit annoying during the concert. Could have been shown at the end of the show...the Live album is sooo much better!

  4. I have loved and followed her since her teenage years, and really enjoyed her docu. Can't wait to get a new album.

PS: Paris should take Britney Spears to her hair stylist!

  5. The harmonica on No Body, No Crime is my absolute highlight.

Listened to the album 5 times now, it is a good album but it doesn't have any song that REALLY stands out for me. I do have my favs though.

I also can't imagine Taylor singing them live. They don't give me concert vibes. I guess I will listen to this album when I draw or clean my apartment. Stuff like that...

Thinking of Folklore I would have loved to take Taylor into the forest, having a picknick, singing these songs for me and a bunch of other fans. I think a Folklore tour would have been as magical as her Speak Now tour. The stage looked so pretty here.

that solo performance of prisoner tho

I wish there was a solo studio version of it. Dua just wasn’t it for me. Their voices didn’t fit well imo.

  7. Not a single skip on Evermore but I def like Folklore more.

    Favs:

    Champagne Problems

    Gold Rush

    Dorothea

    Cowboy Like Me

    Long Story Short

I thought Evermore is pretty beautiful too but then this guy started to sing and completely ruined it for me just like on Exile! :crossed:

she's actually referencing vintage sex robots rite?

She should have taken her boyfriend to the bedroom to get a nice vid... not talking about a sex tape, but she could have done something so much sexier & more sensual.

I highly disagree. Not every song in the album has commercial potential to push a proper promotion for the record. The quality of the songs is amazing, nonetheless, but talking about potential hits... I'd just think about the following as a probably successful singles rollout:

    1. positions
    2. motive
    3. just like magic
    4. my hair (or safety net)
    5. pov

Other than that, I think many of the tracks in the album are not single-material, even though they are great. Let's see what they choose to release next.

It doesn’t matter which song from this album she would choose, it would be a hit - when the album came out all 14 tracks where in the top 20 iTunes charts - to me it looks like they all where hits already. Her fanbase is that huge, she doesn’t need those who randomly listen to her to have a number one song. The only thing I don’t like about this era are her dumb music videos.

I think motive would be a hit and love language or my hair would be good in between singles with pov wrapping up the era

Imo, every song from this album is it worth to be released as a single. I am completely in love with West Side and Safety Net and Six Thirty.

  12. Turned the vid off after 30 seconds. What a dumb shit! The song is terrible too. Midnight Sky wasn’t it for me, the 2nd single isn’t it, I guess the new album won’t be it. Not my era...next!

Last thing I'ma say on positions since I didn't like it that much but, have you tried turning it into an EP w/ this tracklist? The way it flows SO much better

    1. nasty

    2. motive ft Doja Cat

    3. positions

    4. safety net ft Ty Dolla $ign

    5. obvious

    6. pov

No, because I wouldn't wanna miss a single track of that album. But I listened to the tracks randomly and I liked this even more than the original tracklist order.

I think this record should have started with 34+35 and Shut Up should have been the last track. But this is just my opinion.
