Maybe FMWUTTT doesn't mean as in fame, maybe it means as in like top 'Queen' like she likes to call herself a lot?
Or to the top of someone's attentions? It might not mean what it first appears to mean
-
Tbh end of June is soon enough that we don't have to wait long but far away enough for some hype building and teasing
-
WC is certainly not like Paradise lol
I know, it have me hope, but it's not until hearing about a hip hop beats song AND the sound of WC that I stopped worrying about the album being too similar to the Paradise sound I guess?
-
I'm excited that we definitely won't be getting an album full of 'Paradise' style songs, that sound was pretty but it gets dull after a while, I'm all for some variety!

What lies? She said she's still sorting songs for the track list and the order they go in. She's deciding whether to take out some songs (if any at all)
This sounds so promising! Especially that "(if any at all)" part, I mean call me greedy but the more the better! I'm so excited for Ultraviolence! It really seems that she's poured SO much into this album!
-
So what are the chances of Ultraviolence actually being released on June 2nd? I'm hoping it's true
-
I wish she'd give us a proper date, this era can be sooo drawn out at times.
Ugh yes! I wouldn't mind the lack of interviews or tracklist, album cover etc if we just had an official release date set!
-
Some of you will be hugely disappointed when they find out that this album has zero to do with the novel / movie
Personally I don't think she was even thinking of it when she chose Ultraviolence as the album title, I think she's using the term in her own way and I doubt there'll be any references on her album to it tbh
-
I never really thought about it but Lana sings "my pussy tastes like pepsi cola" and her dad is like backstage... must be kind of awkward for him to hear is daughter sing something like that!
As for Cruel World, definitely feeling a stripped back ballad but then again that might just be the intro and the actual song might kick it up just after that and become more rocky? Speculation is agonising!
-
If stripped back means more songs like West Coast then the album would be great in my opinion! I'll admit when she first said stripped back I was worried it would be dull and I wouldn't enjoy it that much, but the guitars and music of WC have really given me renewed hype for this album!

I'm so excited for the tracklist and album art to be revealed!
I love speculating over the songs based on the titles and then seeing how wrong or how right your guesses were once the album is out!

if ultraviolence turns out to be about BDSM, i'll set my stan card on fire. fetishizing abuse is terrible & the reason i don't listen to songs like 'push me down' or 'beautiful player' anymore. ugh. i was hoping she'd moved past that ('don't treat me rough, treat me really nice'). we'll see.
BDSM is not fetishizing abuse? It's done between two (or more I guess) consenting parties whereas abuse is forced upon the victim. There are other differences too, but at the end of the day they are completely different!
ANYWAY, regardless of what her photoshoots are for I'm SO excited to be getting new photos of her! The Ultraviolence era is really coming into full swing!

I'm totally triggered
I hope this isn't sarcastic because that image actually was pretty triggering.

Some people are turned on by that sort of stuff though? Like if she's been in a relationship where it was consensual?
At the end of the day we don't know her personal life and as much as I agree that it is a risky lyric I don't believe in the censoring of art at all.
Maybe this is how she deals with stuff? If she has been in an abusive relationship (which is not a topic that's okay for us to discuss about her tbh) then romanticising it could be how she deals with her trauma? It's not unknown for abuse victims to use this as defensive mechanism against their trauma
Of course I'm just speculating, none of us can say for sure. (I'm probably reading WAY too far into that one lyric though...)
-
If it's true, it's not too bad. I think we can all assume the albums going to come between May and June, hopefully not July though, but I can see this being a decently quick release. They're gonna ride this hype. She's doing better than I think anyone expected. I'm like a proud mama.
Yeah I agree, it would make sense to make the most of the hype she's created with the billboards and all the success of West Coast! I think a June release would be doable tbh
-
Apparently a Radio 1 DJ said Ultraviolence will be released June 2nd!
I don't know how legit this is (probably not very legit at all), but just thought I'd bring it up!
-
Why would she premiere it on a UK radio station but then not release it in the UK at a similar time to all these other countries?

'Ultraviolence' Album Cover Confirmed
in New Releases
Posted
She didn't put her name on the Ultraviolence billboards either remember?
Personally, I like the photo, she looks really pretty!
Also, look at all her covers:
Born To Die she is centre of the image staring forward with her head straight, same as Paradise, but AKA and Ultraviolence she is stood slightly off centre with her shoulders slanted and her head tilted! This could mean nothing but I thought it was worth noting?
