    • I need CRAVE full version of "Crooked Cop"
    • and tbh now after Paradise, Ultraviolence and Honeymoon i think that BTD is her worst album, i can't believe i was so hyped in 2012 lol

The final BTD songs were generally overproduced imo but they still have this strange lyrical potential that lured the entire fandom! At the end of the day you really have to experience the shitty sexual experience to fully appreciate the great one if that makes sense :agree:

I'm so happy we got the demos though

  2. Backfire always brings this edit onto my mind:

Longin for her man to come back, all dressed up back from the city to finally work more on the relationship and it obviously not matching the "environment" anymore, because they can't just simply come back, Lana desperately smoking a cigarette thinking all the things that happen between them through... It doesn't even suit the era it was written in, yet still my mind brings this very specific picture.

TV in Black and White reminds me of this particular Marfa take:

This is rather bizzare to think of, but that's what's happening in my mind - her sitting by the window (Greenvich Avenue is possibly why I clearly see her observing the street), hoping he'd finally show up magically coming back from the prison and daydreaming of the reunion in this sweet, naive aesthetic.

Once again, the age difference with the picture pops up, but it's brief enough for me to forget the detai.

  3. Lana could easily go back to orchestra X beats without having to do it in the same pop-ish routine as on BtD

Something a little bit like Portishead or Hooverphonic would really work aswell

I was just about to post Portishead vibes too!

Especially if the album was shifting from dirty, organic psychedelic rock (I need more of a hippie era like Cruel World 2.0 rather than Ultraviolence-esque in general) to Massive Attack/Portishead beats with Beth-like stripped down vocals... Something less trap, more downtempo.

Something like Anita Lane's "Dirty Pearl".

I have a theory that the song 'In The Sun' is about Bob Leone: This is a work in progress

So basically Bob was Lana's and Gaga's manager and bob basically ditched Lana for Gaga so in the lyrics

"You told me that we could have it all,

Now you're posting pictures on your wall,

Of you and her together, what the hell?" So Bob telling Lana shes gonna be big but him not doing anything to help her and paying more attention to Gaga.

"You took all my money and you went off on the run." Bob leaves Lana for gaga (her paying him for doing nothing)

After that Lana starts hating on Gaga with "So Legit" cause shes jealous?

Except there's been some financial misunderstanding between Bob and Gaga and that's why Lana dissed her. When he was close with Lana the Gaga case was long gone I think.

  5. I really miss the days of Paradise Tour when people were (at least in Europe!) chill, positive and easy to deal with. The day of my first Lana show was incredible although I've had like 5th row because people weren't as damn crazy about being as close as possible. The experience was beyond. Every person on the 1st row got their time with her.

Now let's get onto this year's show storytime!

And then on the other hand I've seen her live for the second time on the festival show this year... Being on the left of the front row was still dangerous lol

People were pushing to death, me and my friends were honestly terrified we were going to be smashed. I seriously couldn't breathe. No problematic people around, although lack of space was terrible, I've lost my good spot halfway through and tried to hold the fence with one of my hands which I thought the crowd was going to break :brows3:

Not to mention my dear friend @heavvyhitter almost died because of the Great Run™ for the stage - after waiting 8 hours for the gates to open we've had to run for a mile to change the ticket for a festival wristband and then after an hour of another wait run another distance. Except for the fact he fell on the first run and got literally squashed to the ground. The bruises & cuts were terrible. Thank god we kept the space for him, I wouldnt forgive myself if he just sat there alone at some random back spot.

I really hope American shows these days aren't as crazy as the European ones.

    Stay safe you guys...

  6. she can sing. she can hold the notes and wales and has great stamina. she needs to learn not to tighten her larynx so much. she also needs to work on her clarity.

    i'll give her a 7 out of 10.

I've also heard her technique isn't as flawless as many might assume it is (can't really tell myself cause I've never been into singing that much and never got proper education) but we all HAVE to admit her voice is a GIANT masterpiece just as it is.

Like I said on some another forum: someone could literally throw her off of the cliff and her screaming "you little piece of shit" would've probably consisted of more talent than all of ours' combined. She could sing literally anything and I'd still sign up blindfolded.

Back in the My Everything days she used to annoy the hell out of me with her attitude in general (I don't even know why anymore!) but DW slays my life  :bodyisready: :bodyisready:

I'd love to see her show in Europe next year but I'm broke. Someone hold me please.

Pretty much all the lyrics from Pawn Shop Blues. It's seems so personal and desperate, and I love the little details like the "gold and made of flowers dangling." I sorta love that with such detailed, tight lyrics in the verses, the chorus is basically just "Oh no, oh oh, oh oh, oh oh, oh oh."

Well, I didn't know it would come to this but
That's what happens when you're on your own
And you're alright with letting nice things go

Well, I pawned the earrings that you gave me
Gold and made of flowers dangling
And I almost cried as I sold them all
And I don't mind living on bread and oranges, no, no
But I got to get to and from where I come
And it's gonna take money to go

In the name of higher consciousness
I let the best man I knew go
Cause it's nice to love and be loved
But it's better to know all you can know
I said it's nice to love and be loved
But I'd rather know what God knows

I can't do this once more
No man can keep me together
Been broken since I was born

I sincerely thought I was the only one appreciating Pawn Shop Blues lyrically to this crazy point

It's so different yet so truthful
