    my best advice would be to start with the most popular artists in every genre, until you get a feel for what you like about each sound.

    after that look at playlists, youtube recommendations and even tiktoks - from there just start curating the music that you like into your library

    looking through those you'll be able to find a lot of new and upcoming artists too, now I just check new releases 

     

    i have so much music on my phone that I wouldn't say I get heavily invested in newer artists, but if i'm ever in the mood for that one random song that I saved I always know its there

    if you find someone who's music you really like, maybe watch an interview or two and you might feel more inclined to play their music :)

    tiktok has rlly been that bitch for free promo this era which is so unexpected?

     

    the vroom vroom intro has so many likes every time it pops up on my fyp and the vid of the guy at the festival in a starbucks uniform bopping to charlis set.

    i saw one where the file for the visuals weren't working at a show and one where baby wouldn't stop looping + both had really decent likes

    none of them will have any kind of inside information - the majority of people in the room are auditioning for either a performance contract or video shoot. They will have just turned up on the day and then learnt the choreography + kash will have been sent the song in advance and been asked to make choreo to it, before whatever was planned eventually fell through. 

     

    the only reason we got that clip is bc kash likes to brag about working for big names - he's a lot more known nowadays and probably wouldn't get away with posting it

    I've always loved girls spitting like crazy on a track and she eats every. single. time.

    in comparison to her peers i think she's the best by far + it's gonna be exciting watching her career blossom, hopefully Drake following her means we're going to get some kind of summertime smash collab next year.

     

    watched her hot 97 interview last week too and it made me love her a lot more too! very humble beginnings and it's refreshing to see someone in the limelight so transparent about their life - definitely recommend if you haven't watched already :)
