now that I have a better idea of what lana is going for with this album I actually really appreciate love a lot more in a lyrical sense. When it first came out I assumed it was just another love song, but now that I get the whole lust for life thing I totally get the whole "hanging out and loving life" thing it's doing and I really appreciate it

I'm not sure if this was said earlier, but the 7 planets are the 7 earth sized planets from the news a few weeks ago they match the images from the articles perfectly. I can't speak on the symbolism but figured I could clear up the questions regarding what they are in a literal sense.

this song has quickly gone from underwhelming to me to something I absolutely love. I totally understand Lorde's direction and think that Melodrama is going to be a really great album. everyone keeps saying how they're disappointed that it doesn't sound like pure heroine but at the end of the day I really don't expect it to. Lorde was 16 living in New Zealand when PH came out, so of course its going to sound like a record made by an angsty teen. But now that she's 20 and seen the world I'm not surprised her sound has gone in a different direction. at the end of the day this is an artists piece of art, not an obligation to fans to remain in the same sphere of sound/visuals/whatever. natural progression in someone's life dictates the direction of the project, not what they've done in the past or what their fans "want"

theres very specific parts of the song I like a lot and then parts I really wish she did differently. The lyrics aren't her best but I can relate so I enjoy them

I agree! I love the prechorus its very cool but then it really does jump to a whole different song. that being said I don't hate it as much as I thought I would. I just hope that the whole album isn't reflective of this song

I'm waiting to hear the full thing before judging, but I'm nowhere near as hyped as I wish I was? I don't know, Pure Heroine felt unique and I related a lot to the lyrics of that album, I hope that will be true also for this new album but it's been so long I just don't even know what to expect?

 

I just felt an instant connection with some of the songs on Pure Heroine, I'm hoping that'll happen with this new album, Lorde's lyrics were unique and they just clicked with me (I don't really know how to explain it), that's all I'm hoping for I guess?

i really dont think BAR compares to BTD. BTD was so beat heavy and full of a lot more textures(crowds, people shouting, loon). Even Love has less textures, and all the textures seem to be new ones, so she's rlly not doing BTD 2.0 in my opinion. BAR and Love are v different from BTD. I love Emile and i'm excited for the future!!!(and the things to come cuz im young and in looooooooove)

I agree 100%. I don't find either of the songs we've hear so far sound like a BTD 2.0 at all. I think that lana summed it up nicely when she said she was trying to get back to that big clean sound, I feel like both songs do that (love especially) without it sounding like she's making another BTD

Do you think Lana will actually do a proper world tour this time round? Even if its a small one?

I just find it to be a little all over the place personally. But I'm fairly certain the final production is going to be different if Love's sound is any indication of the production overall
