    Fair enough, in the song Ride Lana sings "You can be my full time, daddy". However I would always hear "You can be my photon, daddy" and I never knew why she would sing about photons. I looked up the lyrics later on and well... Let's just say she wasn't singing about an elementary particle...  :awk:

    Let me tell you something about Lizzy Grant. We were best friends in middle school. I know, right? It's so embarrassing. I don't even... Whatever. So then in eighth grade, I started going out with my first boyfriend K who was totally gorgeous but then he moved to Indiana, and Lizzy was like, weirdly jealous of him. Like, if I would blow her off to hang out with K, she'd be like, "Why didn't you call me back?" And I'd be like, "Why are you so obsessed with me?" So then, for my birthday party, which was an all-girls pool party, I was like, "Lizzy, I can't invite you, because I think you're lesbian." I mean I couldn't have a lesbian at my party. There were gonna be girls there in their *bathing suits*. I mean, right? She was a LESBIAN. So then her mom called my mom and started yelling at her, it was so retarded. And then she dropped out of school because no one would talk to her, and she came back in the fall for high school, all of her hair was cut off and she was totally weird, and now I guess she's on crack  :creepna:

    This is the ULTIMATE way to listen to Lana's music. A lot of albums sound great through headphones, but Lana's albums are beyond explanation. The soundscapes are so lush, soothing, eerie, haunting, beautiful etc. She can touch on any and every emotion with her voice - sometimes all within one song!

    Agreed. The ultimate way to listen to newly released music by Lana is by yourself. I mean as soon as a new video is released I lock myself in my room and forget about the world for crying out loud. I did this whilst watching Ride, and wow... I still shiver whenever I see the video. Same goes out to National Anthem. I can't be the only one here doing it?  :icant:

    Come to think of it, I've actually seen Marina live. It's a shame because I started listening to her AFTER she was an opening act for Coldplay. But from what I can remember, she did an awesome job along with Charlie XCX on keeping the vibe and audience alive up to the point when Coldplay got on stage.

    So I think I get your point. Of course different concerts and artist channel different kinds of emotions. Lana got this kind of melancholy mysterious elegant persona, meanwhile Marina is quite bubbly, cheerful and happy (almost the quite opposite). However, I love 'em both. Truly amazing artists!

    I really like Marina! I discovered Electra Heart at the end of 2012 and I've been listening to it for quite some time now and some of her songs have a great melody! It ended up to a point where I created a playlist on iTunes called Larina (Lana+Marina, lmao). Anyway, my favorite songs by her are:

    • Homewrecker
    • The State of Dreaming
    • Power and Control
    • Teen Idle
    • Valley of the Dolls
    • Sex Yeah

    Oh, and when I found out she was coming to a location near me I decided to look up the date in case I could go to the show. I was already thinking how awesome 2013 would be since I'm going to see Lana in April. Well imagine my surprise when I found out that she was coming the exact same date and time of the year as Lana was... I just... fml  :facepalm:

     

    By the way, for all you Lana/Marina fans, there's a really good mashup I found on YouTube by accident. It's a mix of National Anthem + Bubblegum Bitch, I'll put it down in the spoiler :)
