  1. When I first heard the snippets to the Paradise Edition I remember being most excited to hear Gods & Monsters. It sounded so darn powerful, however as time went by and I finally heard the whole song it didn't really live up to my expectations  :pft:

I was going to vote for it now, but then I changed my mind and chose Blue Velvet instead  :troll:

  2.

I am not above asking her for a kiss :assad:

How would one approach the topic? :assad:

You simply wait for her to be in a rush, then you whisper to her ear: "Kiss me hard before you go".   :blanche2:  :clapback:

Or if you rather prefer to quote Fake Diamonds you shout: "Kissing me when the crowd can watch" :sass:

  3. Ooh. I have very fond memories of playing Pokémon in school during the recess when I was little. We would always play Pokémon Blue/Red/Yellow. And then Silver/Gold/Crystal came along and I was like  :woot:

Ain't nobody got time for the versions that came along afterwards. Pokémon was and always will be Ash, Brock and Misty  :agree:

  4. I was going to do my homework, woops. Embrace yourselves:

    VIDEOS:

    Video Games:

At 0:03-0:05 The way she just naturally blinks at the camera. I remember the first time I saw that particular moment I just...  :icant:

    Born To Die:

The whole video really... But at the ending when Bradley is holding Lana in his arms. It's so graphic yet so morbidly beautiful.

    Blue Jeans:

The first 30 seconds of the video with that extra melody. I can remember watching the video just for the sake of those 30 seconds. It's just flawless  :bodyisready:

    National Anthem:

1:06-1:10 There's a reason why it's my signature. The way she just strokes her hair back, I can't even  :suicide:

    Summertime Sadness:

3:30 The fall. There's this moment where Lana and Jaime is floating in the air. Time just seems to stop there for a second. And to this day every time I see the video my heart just stops at 3:47  :oprah:

    Ride:

This song/video always makes me all teary and stuff. I just can't see the video without hearing the lyrics in the beginning and the end. Same goes for National Anthem. I remember the day it came out, I was on my way to school and just as I got on the bus I saw Lana tweeting about it. So I decided to watch it when I got home. I was so excited all day in school to get home I just couldn't contain myself. Finally when I got home I locked the door to my room and boy oh boy was it wourth the wait. I know I'm supposed to pick out that moment in the song/video that makes my heart drop, but I couldn't do that to this song because it wouldn't be fair for all the other clips to this masterpiece. Everything in this video is just too much for me to handle  :hair:

I'm aware I didn't write about Blue Velvet, Carmen and Burning Desire. Nevertheless, they're also perfection  :agree:

    LYRICS:

    Off To The Races:

And we're off to the races, places

Ready, set the gate is down
    And now we're going in
    To Las Vegas, chaos
    Casino oasis
    Honey it's time to spin
    Boy you're so crazy baby
I love you forever, not maybe
You are my one true love
You are my one true love
← Heavenly high pitch that's too much for me to handle  :crying2:

    National Anthem:

He says to "be cool" but
    I don't know how yet

    Wind in my hair
Hand on the back of my neck
I said, "Can we party later on?"
    He said, "Yes, yes, yes"

    [...]

He said to "be cool" but
    I'm already coolest

    I said to, “Get real,"
“Don't you know who you're dealing with?
Um, do you think you'll buy me lots of diamonds?”

    Summertime Sadness:

I think I'll miss you forever
Like the stars miss the sun in the morning sky
    Later's better than never

Even if you're gone I'm gonna drive (drive, drive)

This Is What Makes Us Girls:

The prettiest in crowd that you had ever seen
Ribbons in our hair and our eyes gleamed mean
A freshmen generation of degenerate beauty queens
    And you know something?

They were the only friends I ever had
We got into trouble and when stuff got bad
I got sent away, I was waving on the train platform
Crying 'cause I know I'm never comin' back.

    Without You:

We were two kids, just tryin' to get out,
Live on the dark side of the American dream.
We would dance all night, play our music loud,
When we grew up nothing was what it seemed.

    Lucky Ones:

    (LAST)

Every now and then, the stars align
Boy and girl meet by the great design
Could it be that you and me are the lucky ones

Everybody told me love was blind
Then I saw your face and you blew my mind
Finally, you and me are the lucky ones this time... (At 3:12 this melancholy tune start and I just  :legend:)

    Cola:

    Obviously  :kris:

    Drugs suck it up
    Like vanilla icies
    Don’t treat me rough,
    Treat me really niceys
    Decorate my neck
    Diamantes ices
    Why, come on, come on
    Ooh, ooh, ooh,
    Ooh, yeah

    Yayo (AKA):

    (LAST)

Let me put on a show for you, daddy
Let me put on a show
Let me put on a show for you, tiger
Let me put on a show

I know, I know. There's this huge debate about the new/old Yayo. In fact I appreciate both of them equally actually. The thing that makes me more attracted to the older one though is the towards the ending when the lyrics above is being read. The tune at about 4:51 in the background just has this compelling tune that makes me wanna   :lange:

    EXTRA:

    Million Dollar Man:

I've said it once before and I'll say it again. The day I see Lana perform Million Dollar Man in James Bond is the day I can die peacefully  :rip:

    To be continued...  :brows:

  5. I found Woodkid thanks to Assassin's Creed. There was this commercial for the game Revelations that just made me enjoy the music so much!

  6. GPOY

GPOY or Gratuitous Picture Of Yourself is basically when you describe yourself with a pic/gif of how you're feeling at the moment.

    Lemme go first:

  8. What I don't get is how some people can hate and album version but then absolutely love the demo. I mean, it's still pretty much the same song, just a different version.

wow, wow, wow, easy now. No one is hating here. Hate is a strong word  :read:

And yeah It's the same song, but the lyrics and melody in Diet Mountain Dew in particular is way different from the new version js  :bye:

  9. I completely disagree. Her lyrics are great IMO, much more well written and emotional than lots of other pop women out there today. What makes you think her songwriting is what keeps her from rising to the top? I just find it really hard to understand that. I'm gonna list some of her great lyrical moments in a spoiler below just to appease myself.

I wanna be a bottle blonde,

I don't know why but I feel conned

I wanna be an idle teen

    I wish I hadn't been so clean

Now I see, I see it for the first time

There is no crime in being kind

Not everyone is out to screw you over

Maybe, yeah, just maybe they just wanna get to know ya

You've been hanging with the unloved kids

Who you never really liked and you never trusted

But you are so magnetic, you pick up all the pins

    Never committing to anything,

You don't pick up the phone when it ring-ring-rings

    Don't be so pathetic, just open up and sing;

    "I'm vulnerable! I'm vulnerable! I am not a robot!"

You say Y-E-S to everything-will that guarantee you a win?

Do you think you will be good enough to love others and to be loved?

^this basically. And I would like to add my personal favorites:

    Nothing is provocative

    Anymore even for kids

    No room for imagining

    'Cause everyone's seen everything

When everything is life and death

You may feel like there's nothing left

Instead of love and trust and laughter

What you get is happy never after
