    i keep listening to fingertips & initially i was confused of her not singing the “mother” line 

    but i realize now it’s actually sooooo Profound…

    the sparkle muted filter fade over “‘mother” is genius…. she won’t even call her or speak/sing her as a “mother” cause she wasn’t - she was presumably horrible to lana and not a “mother figure” lana wanted or needed. of course it can be written lyrically but she won’t even utter ‘her’ the sort of satisfaction of even being called a “mother” wow 

    also the nuance in these lyrics is special. only dedicated fans will truly grasp it. the lore of LdR is forever immortal on tunnel. truly genius

    that’s odd? idk , but back when chuck had her baby, i was driving down sunset blvd and there was patty and rob outside at a table having a glass of wine… i think she and lana just do not associate. (speculation)

    not begging in a bad way… begging in a subtle way to understand what the metaphor of being sealed up and forgotten means… 

    she’s literally asking ppl to use their brain cells … the album is like a tunnel and it so beautiful.  unlike most songs on the radio you are immediately passively listening to a beat and lyric. i don’t mean it in a bad way , someone find a synonym for begging 

     

    in order to understand the album you have to be paying attention. you can’t subtlety listen.

    It's also the worst album to expect people to understand on first listen, which is why I hope the genius behind the reviewer's 'listening party' in the UK gets sent back to business school by the label. Just thinking about how this record would easily be an 85 on metacritic if the label had sent out copies instead, makes me mad.

    you completely read my mind, on fingertips a light went on in my mind. it’s so powerful and reveals so much with each word and intention but you have to truly be listening … i still don’t understand why she censored the “mother” line but i’m sure she has her reasonings (rob still being married to her maybe) but there is no passive room to listen like with NFR or LFL & it’ll be interesting what songs resonate a few months from now with the GeneralPublic

    he was briefly in the car in the livestream but he was also at the chili cook off thing a year ago when lana had the pigtails and was with her dad and the swarm of fans came and she had to leave

    the way the instagram caption ends, "and then I wrote this album, {OCEAN} and I picked one " makes me curious what "fig" she picked ...cause in the poem it lists off all the different versions of a self the figs represent in the future to pick,  so im a romantic and guessing a man but it could be herself, a new career, who knows ???? queen of mystery , leaving us on our toes begging for more !! endless possibilities abound

    anyways, i can’t believe we are so close to hearing the full album!!! 

    i am a bit shocked the grants was the last ? single to be released before the album, but i’m sure lana had a reasoning ! it feels like momentum is a bit lower but maybe tap has some tricks up their sleeves. 

    i would love to see a huge era like NFR had or a lasting impact like UV had. tbd.

    'Wildcard' is definitely my favorite song from the new album! 

     

    I am gonna be honest, the others are good - but not sure I am craving to listen to any of them again after several listens :(

    Super repetitive for me. I love the artwork/aesthetics tho... its chic and cute. 

    just not really obsessed with the entire project as a whole. 

    but I am super happy with the recognition Miley is getting! she's so good ! I think I was guessing from the aesthetics the music would be different (something I also thought when taylorswift teased the aesthetics for midnights)

    i kind of like having the opening song a surprise & the title track a surprise before the release date - so mysterious & intriguing  i will never forget hearing the opening of cruel world & norman… godddamn man child. i had chills. (i have not listened to the few leaks cause when i did for Chemtrails it ruined the record for me) 

    anyone else wonder how she picks singles ?
