  1. Ohhhh....Still, though.A re these mfs still leaking? It's getting annoying. It's wouldn't affect her sales by much, but she wants it out when and how she wants it out. Let artists be artists.
  2. I wanted it, but a video??? You have to be lying...
  3. Totally agree. She could still have reliable and consistent promo without her having to do interviews or anything really. It's her team. But, at the same time, if she's changing her mind every few days (she IS a legit artist, as we know) and they're being threatened by leakers and stuff, they could very well be trying to get through it as easily as possible. But everything from them adding dancers to her live performances to this weird, haphazard mess of a promo build it has been annoying. But her catalog is so huge, that I've been able to manage.
  4. I'm sorry, I just don't get the "Change" hate. The lyrics are really good, and it reveals a lot about why she's been kind of silent about social things (other than the environment) ["who am I to sympathize when no one gave a damn"]. I don't think it should be a single, but it's gorgeous to me, and I've been longing for a soft and simple piano ballad from her. And I don't think she's trying to be "woke." I just think the entire album is a meditation on her position as a public figure and the complexities of being that in a polarizing political climate. She's also recognizing that we're all desensitized to everything because we're exposed to everything all day long via the internet. She's not telling us what to do or who to be; she's just describing the world around us and how she's placed in it. It totally contrasts with the upper echelon and safe bubble she was always so concerned with and trying to escape in her prior work. It's actually really fascinating...especially from her...to me, at least.
  5. LOL, don't come for me, but I felt that way about "Old Money," and I still don't get the hype over that song... But different strokes for different folks... I'm excited for anything she has to offer, though!
  6. Right?! There are certain songs I don't fall in love with until I hear a live version, and then it hits me. (My least fave is actually Blue Jeans...)
  7. Did y'all notice that the narrative in Coachella is that a she's singing to another woman about that woman's husband.. but Lana isn't talking about wanting him or stealing him??? That is GROWTH! I love when she writes songs to other women in that way bc it's so contradictory to this weird, lonely chanteuse narrative ppl tried to place on her (and she placed on herself at times). Like I am just so in love with her entire trajectory, and I can't wait until this album drops.
  8. Lmao, I know. But thanks! I was making fun of us stupid bitches who believed she was actually going the "surprise" album route. I'm still pressed. That day will go down in infamy.
  9. Hey you guys. Just woke up from my 2-week nap. May 26th has passed. How's Lana's album?!?
  10. "NOT SURE ABOUT THOSE SECOND TO LAST CHORDS...YOU DID SOMETHING DIFFER...." I AM SLAIN.
  11. I'm so tired of this bitch! WE LITERALLY PREDICTED THIS EARLIER!!! LANA WITH PIANO!
  12. As others have stated, the difference is that Lana has been inspired by and a fan of hip-hop from the beginning. She has long spoken about her love for Eminem and 90s rap. She grew up in the golden era of rap, too, and maybe that's why I let her slide in ways that I don't Katy or Miley, who obviously try to capitalize off of black culture and cast it aside on a whim. Lana seems to love it, and I think her image lends itself to it to an extent. Her entire persona relies heavily on superficial opulence but also pain, which I think is the DNA of many rap songs as well. My only issue is my memory of her skirting over a question regarding Black Lives Matter. I think any artist, especially white artists, who enjoy the culture as much as she and others do owe the black male rappers with whom they collaborate some semblance of political support when their lives are on the line. Same with her penchant for using Latino cultural elements... But our girl has never been one to align herself with any movement, which I'd probably prefer...She's too busy looking at planets and SpaceX shit with Elon Must.
  13. THIS SOUND IS ICONIC! OMG! I love it to pieces already. It's so cruise-y.
  14. Pleathe. Don't set me up for that. That's all I've ever wanted from her, and I know we're not gonna get it, so don't. She loves her heavy bass, drums, trap, and etc... I'm getting emotional thinking about it, too.... Omg. But, God, if she does that same f*cking melody she did on all of her older material, I'd choke..in a bad way. I was listening to old unreleased material, and I realized "Hangin Around" sounded so much much like BAR... Did anyone else mention this?
  15. I hope this to be the case. I do like knowing where she is in her life, too, though. I hope she knows that some of us like some of her early Sirens-era works, too. If it's as vibrant, strange, and everywhere as the AKA album, I'd be over the freaking moon. It had everything, and that's the way she's been describing LFL.
  16. Btw, "Lust for Life" has finally grown on me. I wasn't feeling it when it came out and I am not a fan of the idea of features, but that song is really colorful, sonically. I do dislike the idea of her making an album for the fans who she probably thinks only includes teenage girls, but this album may shape up to be something really good.
  17. So I recently fell in love with this song, but...with the whole "Make America Great Again" slogan going on in the US...I think it would make her subtle Republican teas she's been serving a little less...subtle. But the song is so cute, right? I always loved Starry Eyed, and I was pissed it didn't go anywhere or get finished... Maybe that one? Plus the whole, "all this trying for no good reason" and the lemon line...
  18. Newbie gay and long-time lurker here. I hope she brings at least (and at most) one old song back like she did with Yayo... Idk what would fit, though...
