i think during and post-sucker, atlantic were still hoping for charli to be the next MPG. they probably got cold feet after ATAP wasn't a hit and were too scared to put the money into releasing, especially bc we know that sophie is an expensive producer. it seems like they've chilled out now, though, and appear to recognise that charli's position as a gay artist is more profitable in the long run

the leaks all came after the album was scrapped...its not like they leaked and she wasn't able to put them out. they weren't doing anything with the tracks, they had been scrapped entirely
