Well lana went into jack thinking they were gonna make pop sounding things since he was known for his upbeat sound, and then got surprised when he got on the piano instead, so I’m sure they experimented a bit with that bombastic melodrama-y side

exactly what i thought!! even if jack has been more lowkey on later projects he does know what a bomb pop song sounds like and probably means that booming synth he had going on around melodrama and masseduction

  2. i was just thinking of how i dislike hannah diamond's work (musical and otherwise) so it was such a coincidence to open the forum and have this be front page:rip:

Can’t get into Lucy Dacus or Julia Jacklin beyond the song she did with Lana (for that reason alone - she did it with Lana otherwise the song is meh) :noparty: :toofunny:

thanks for this, i love that song but had no idea lana sang it!! (agree on lucy dacus though).

Did she say her label? She said that "SHE (Taylor Swift) can". I assumed it was for first-week sales reasons but she didnt say that her label wouldnt let her, at least I dont remember her saying that.

when she said "taylor can" i assumed she meant something like "taylor can do that, i cant (because they wont let me)"

i just can’t believe the next album will

    be only digital…..

i think she was joking abt that, right after she says unlike taylor swift her label won't let her release without vinyl

is there a chance that Lana will ever remake Boarding School?

i don't think so, same for most lizzy stuff - even though she keeps talking abt going back to her old themes the songs themselves either don't fit her current voice or image. more laid-back stuff like pawn shop blues for example makes sense, but beeing cheeky about doing crack... not so much!

now back on topic: the title beautiful makes me so intrigued - it's such a basic name i have no idea if it'll be good or not lol

I have a theory about BB and the next album(s):

She's telling her story with this coming record and she even took old songs that made sense so it's almost like a little compilation of her life (like she said, it's where she was, where she is now etc.).

She's had enough and wants to go out with a bang. After BB she will have nothing left to prove commercially or critically so I think this is a "farewell" album. She's not retiring of course but I expect a complete shift on her music and new stuff (like she said when deactivating her socials).

The cover album is going to be the record that closes this Lana era we know and love. There's nothing more "Lana" than covering old classic songs.

LDR9 is the Mike album (unless he's the producer of the middle part of BB that we don't know about) and she said earlier this year that she was already writing and recording the next record (even though BB was changed she only picked different unreleaseds and scrapped LYTAN but I don't think she recorded new material for the final version we'll hear this month).

LDR9 is going to be a wild ride. I'm so excited to see what's next.

(amicably) screenshotting this to crack a few laughs when ldr9 turns out to be nfr: chemtrails over the country club - even bluer banisters & standards

I feel like the extended drum outro of Chemtrails title track was low-key intended to be an interlude, it allowed Tulsa Jesus Freak to start playing and it flows nicely,The trio-BBS Is a more intense and apparent version of that which she may have been aiming for in COCC. I really like this whole instrumental interlude+bop track thing she's doing in her albums

when listening to dealer i kept thinking on how it would fit just right after those drums

My ex just texted me he got into a Vogue internship which interview I got for him when we were dating. We had a little bonding moment between the two of us, which was heartbreaking for me because even though I know we’re both madly in love with each other, we want different things… or maybe we’re in different timings. It’s like we used to be in the same wave for a period in time but now the sea has driven us apart and we’re at different points in the ocean; still able to feel our connection permeating between us but not close enough for an embrace.

He misses me and he told me that. I said I couldn’t possibly express what I feel through words (spoken or written) but a song perhaps could.
So I sent him Thunder. He saw my reply but hasn’t answered yet. I can almost feel him spinning the song on an endless loop, drinking all the emotion off of it. As I’m doing right now as well - both connected through four and a half minutes of a bittersweet journey.

Sorry for the random post but I feel like I wanted to share this with my LB family. My heart aches but there’s something about Thunder, in the midst of all the nostalgia and resignation that keeps me going. I can’t wait to be able to listen to it in our queen’s new album. What a time to be alive.

Just do it… just do it, don’t wait.

i really thought this would end w him spilling about some incoming lana vogue issue:toofloppy:

Still holding out hope for Bruce - feature, cover, anything. I would really like to believe they were in contact and perhaps recording something together around the time he mentioned her genius and played American on his radio show.

Have the spillers directly addressed features on the new songs?

considering his feature on the bleachers album i think jack antonoff was the bridge between them rather than him working directly with her. :/  it'd be nice though
