Girls, i just woke up and I dreamed that Lana released a single called "Wild Roses" with digital art single cover - something like a rose, but very abstract. I never dream about stuff with such details. Maybe it's prophetic haha.

Blue Banisters - Pre-Release Thread: OUT October 22nd, 2021

Imagine if Lana hasn't released any new album since 2017's LFL. And now she surprise drop NFR, COCC and BB as a triology album. Imagine the devastation. -

I first got in touch with Picasso's blue period at the 2018 "Bleu et rose" exhibition of Picasso in the Musee D'Orsay in Paris, so I really got emotional with "Beautiful". I keep seeing COCC as a side A, and BB as a side B of the same record. -

So I heard the record couple of times. California is one of her best songs ever. It's really mature and follows some kind of logic in her evolution as an artist. "How to disappear" sounds terrible to my ears. Is that supposed to be a Christmas song? "Love Song" starts great and then sounds like a freestyle session in the studio. WTF? "The Next Best American Record" is probably the worst song in the record. "Cinnamon" is good, but it sounds like the track that should have been between "Cherry" and "White Mustang" on LFL. I don't see it in NFR. :/ About the rest: Venice Bitch, California, Bartender, NFR, Happiness is a butterfly, MAC, The Greatest - I wouldn't mind if the album was just those 7. It still would have been her best record ever. Overall - NFR sounds like LFL - I mean both records sound like the work of an artist looking for a new direction. Let's hope that her next album will be entirely in the lanes of this new direction. And where are the RHCP vibes anyway? -

Why people claim that "Love song" = "In Your Car"? I am almost sure that In Your car is actually "bartender". -

Hi guys, I just wondered: do you imagine what kind of banger Venice Bitch would be if Dan Auerbach produced it? And why isn't she collaborating with him again? I mean, don't we deserve another masterpiece following the steps of Ultraviolence? -

Well, everything she did and wrote after Honeymoon is indifferent to me. I love BTD, UV and HM. I am indifferent to LFL. MAC and Hope feel very indifferent to me too. However, Venice Bitch was amazing for me. If there is a slight chance that the rest of the albums goes into directions similiar to VB, I'd be happy. But if it's like MAC and Hope, gurl bye. -

Lana has never been so silent. I wonder what's going on with her. I have a flight to Paris the last week of March and since I booked my tickets I imagined how I'll listen the shit out of NFR while flying. Now those dreams are almost dust I'm praying for a wonder and hope the album arrives this month. By the way, did u see this? -

So the album is now moved to mid-year release. According to a press release. Too bad. Everyone will stop care about it until summer. -

I think she will announce something on March 1st. She won't do anything in February. She released Love in February in 2017, she won't repeat herself. March it is. Plus the album is now 13 songs, she said she recorded shit during January, so the "finished" NFR from the instagram story on December 31st is no longer valid. She either scrapped songs and replaced them with new, or just added new songs in January. -

So the album is 13 songs now, and she says she finished it in January. Seems like she's pulling a LFL again. Also, I hope the cover is something like that: -

Yeah, I remember she said in interviews that she worked really hard on LFL. But then she said that she had to self-edit herself for the first time in LFL because of the sensitive political landscape I find this corresponding with her latest interview when she said she did an album that feels more organic (NFR). Somehow I sense a confrontation between the artist who self-censured LFL and the artist that is giving us the "organic" NFR now. But probably it's just me speculating like crazy lol. -

I was thinkng about the lyrics of MAC theese days. What does she mean by "I fu*ked up, I know that but Jesus, can't a girl just do the best she can?". Is it possible she's talking about fucking up with Lust for life? -

I have mixed feeling to MAC. I love the progression of "you took my sadness out of context, at the Mariners Apartment complex" - it is amazing. The rest is no. -

Yeah, and "Hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have it but i have it" is not... HM is the album with best song titles. -

Well, actually Zayn dropped 5-6 singles before releasing Icarus Fall. She is not the only one. Troy promoted his album 5 months before release too. -

I hope I don't get lynched, I think most of the people are pretty open and progressive here lol. That's why I dared to say I hate the song. I think VB is one of her best songs. It's not best in lyrics. The electric guitar is also not great. But... it tell's a story in a brilliant way. The silly simple lines are in relationship with the guitar and have deeper meaning together. I love how silly it starts, as an ordinary romantic story and then turns into the story of a whole life with deep atmosphere. With each guitar solo that interrupts her singing I imagine how seasons change and then she is in another point of her life. At least that's how it in my ears. And I love her for making songs that are so visually stimulating and deep in atmosphere Something that MAC is not. MAC is nothing special, sounds like a filler song to me. Could be replaced with any song of Lana's discography. It's just generic imo. I really loved Honeymoon, Ultraviolence and BTD, but not Lust for life. -

Guys, am I the only one who hates "hope is a dangerous something something"? Singing about churches, shaking ass and ipad is not the Lana I know and like. It just sounds ridicilous in my head. I don't even see it like "Lana who sings about what she wants and doesn't give a f". It just sounds lazy and bad in my head. I miss the "young and beautiful" type of ballads she did. -

I began listening to her music after Ultraviolence, so that's why I don't know about the promotion of this album. But Honeymoon was solid, it had a frame in which we knew what when and where. I think she wants to be that kind of an artist that is sharing everything on insta, to be remembered with this kind of approach - yes, it's different but on the other hand it does not fit with her traditional way of promoting new singles on the radio. I'm not saying she does bad things with album promotion, I'm saying she does weird things. I mean - if she decides to give us something weird like an unreleased compilation with "songs she did for fun" - then she can promote it as weird as she wants. But when she gives us something traditional, with traditional radio premieres - then please, stick to it and don't mess us with weird snippet sharing, then scrapping. Lfl is painful period. Maybe it's really for the best not to comment it. But it's annoying how she does the same with NFR. It is maybe going to be an amazing album, but poorly promoted. If she had released VB now, and release the whole album the last week of february, with 2 promotional singles in between, would've been great.
