she would've ended up slapping GNO on a mixtape or something, but at the same time, i could see it existing in the same world as those songs most of XCX3 draft could have been next to Our Boyfriend / Boys / Issues, besides Bounce / Good Girls / Down Like Whoa

is it bad i wish she had been forced to release Issues / Our Boyfriend she sounds so good in those songs, i don't think she has ever sounded that smooth and professional vocally

yeah, but people 'on the inside' have said that other drafts included taxi / the leakers may have just wanted to continue hoarding it or didn't have it at the time

but when she FIRST debuted it she wasn't planning to release it, or at the very least she was waiting for the album, too, considering there's a taxi-helicopter on the album cover there's a lot of speculation that it was going to be the b-side to a monthly release that instead ended up being GNO (don't see why it couldn't just have been tacked on to this one) and 1999

i definitely knew i was right thinking all of this, but a few people seemed VERY set that there was a whole ~leak situation~ prior to N1A that affected the final track listing, citing that that's the reason we got White Roses, Blame It On U and Emotional instead of other songs... but pretty sure it was always the case that Taxi / TKO / R&R were never meant to be released and Bounce / GNO / No Angel were all being saved for the album

people i'm talking to are saying minute long+ snippets of No Angel and Round & Round leaked before N1A and that's why they didn't make the cut, supposedly? this is definitely NOT how i remember it happening, but they seem dead-set in thinking this is what happened i always thought they had never meant to seen the light of day

i'm talking w/ some other fans that seem to think the Exchange songs were initially supposed to be on N1A but i never got this impression

can anyone recall a situation where Number 1 Angel's tracklisting was affected by a leak?

this x100... also y’all are acting like the one off monthly singles ‘bombed’ but the reality is they were for the fans and promo but weren’t pushed whatsoever, at all, besides maybe 5ITM. 1999 has been treated like an appropriate full on single release moreso than any of her songs since Sucker, it’s already gone past anything since Doing It with ease

they played this performance at the XCX night I went to the other weekend, it was so epic

i’m into her being super sleuthy about the album — it’s kind of fun for us and a huge change! what she doesn’t realize is that at this point we would all be okay with 1/2 the album being things we have already heard tbh, I think we can all agree that many of the leaks deserved an official release at this point she should slap together some demos and 5-6 new songs and features with the mixtape collaborators

tommy cash and mykki blanco both brought excellent verses to their charli collabs i couldn’t tell Kim and Charli apart on Unlock It for months but y’all stay acting like that was a more exciting collab moment

1999 is 58 on US pop radio a week before the official adds date this is really good for her btw. like astonishingly so

my fav club had a Charli night and they played TKO/Taxi/Daddy Knows/Bounce whew i was completely eviscerated
