    “I used to be very open about the music I made and play it for everyone and anyone. I'd send it even if I didn’t really like the song. I’ve learned not to do that. The songs you don’t like just don’t exist, because more often than not, the songs that you hate the most will be the one where everyone’s like, “That’s the single, let’s put that one out!” And then you’re stuck singing fucking “Break the Rules.” So now I only show people songs that I really love, so if they’re like, “This is the one,” it’s cool.”

    you guys... the song is not good at all lmao and I'm not just saying that bc she's an abuser. Idk why, but she's been sounding pretty bad recently too, like even on her last album compared to the Bubblebath EP... maybe it's the production idk

    My brother told me to check out Skott on Spotify since he thought she kind of sounded similar to Lana. To his defense, I've only heard him play Million Dollar Man (and maaaaaybe Shades of Cool but I can't remember) so I don't really think he knows her music very well, and Skott doesn't have much in common with Lana in my opinion. However, I thought I might recommend her here. Her voice is light and she seems to play with it, going up and down like a wave in some songs, the sound is modern and... well, give her a try. I think some of you here might like her. She's more pop than Lana, but doesn't have that very fast rhythm but not as slow as Lana either.

    SURVEY: would you still f-ck with Charli if she went towards a polished pop sound similar to Rita Ora's new single "Let You Love Me"? 

     

    There's nothing wrong with this song or Rita's music, I just think it sounds like it could be sung by anyone. I feel like most of Charli's fans like her bc she is something original. Even Sucker, her most mainstream era, had at least some originality to it compared to what was popular at the time. I think most of us will follow Charli no matter what direction her music goes in, but I feel like doing a song like that would kill a lot of the hype she has going

    Okay, so Charli's playlist inspired me to do the same so I did a playlist with some artists that I think they are the future of pop and here it is (there's music in spanish because I'm from Spain and I think they should take over the charts outside our country).

    Yes! I think it was better than the other tracks on "I Am Me" to be honest.

     

    I Am Me is one of my favorite albums of all time, but I think Fall In Love With Me should have replaced Burning Up

    I really like her voice. Shame she wasn't taken seriously after the SNL incident and because of the wannabe punk thing she had going on (then again that might have been on the label trying to create a new Avril). "Better Off", "Undiscovered", "Pieces of me", and "Love makes the world go round" are pretty songs, and "Fall In Love With Me" (bonus track from I Am Me) is so nice it's underrated. \

     

    I don't really care for Evan's voice in these new songs. But Ashlee still sounds great. 

     

    100% agree! and Fall In Love With Me deserves so much more than to be a bonus track ughhh.

    & also I'm pretty sure Bricks is gonna be released sometime soon through Assassination Nation... the movie also features original songs by Sia and Labrinth and I believe another Tommy Genesis song, as well as Black Wave by K. Flay being used in all the trailers. I don't think they'd let all those songs go to waste by not releasing them. (btw the movie is amazing !!)

    tbh I like Break the Rules, it brings out my true teen angst, the chorus is like pure magic. & it was such a fun song to see Charli perform live back in the Sucker era

    Avril's music has meant so much to me my whole life, and I do like this, I think I was just hoping for more. Hopefully it will grow on me tho! If only the instrumental was more in the style of her first two albums this could have been a really great song


    Hmm, it's a good song for a TV show perhaps, like an emotional part of The Vampire Diaries or some other drama show trailer, but I won't be fussed to never hear it again oops

     

    I was totally gonna say it sounds like something that would play in a movie trailer

    the fact that some of you can't understand why an ABUSER would be getting some negative attention literally baffles me... you can like Poppy if you want, but don't be upset when other people don't. she brought it on herself by working with an abuser. same goes for Kim Petras, Felony Martinez, and all the others.
