The production is so “oceanic” and underwater sounding... it’s pretty great!

Exactly... The summer singles had limited backing... 1999 has an official video and A LOT more push and promo.

If 1999 got Charli into the Top 40 again, CTMP (feeding off the momentum) would launch her into pop superstardom! :defeated: They need to keep the momentum up though for sure... I feel like the last few major label releases have been iffy. ATAP kinda had an off-beat video, and remix... Boys was a good release all-round, but nothing really followed it... I’m not really factoring POP 2 into things because that wasn’t really the label’s “thing.” 1999 has had the budget and promo behind it, the label’s blessing, the push... now they need to have another strong single lined up to push this time. Granted, we’re not supposed to know, but she has the material... and it seems like more and more people are warming up to Charli... just a general feeling I’ve had lately. Pull the trigger Atlantic! I mean, let’s be real, 1999 and CTMP definitely sound like they’d come off of the same album, and both have massive single potential.

Just did a "Charli XCX" search on YouTube, for recent uploads, and there's an interview with Camila where she said, "Charli is going have me on her next album," so there's new some info...

Regarding her album... somewhere in the world, in true 90’s cartoon villain fashion, Charli is sitting high atop her active volcano island lair, having recently deployed her latest weapon of mass destruction “1999”, and planning world domination and her next troll... The surrounding island and all its vegetation and inhabitants have been laid to waste, decimated by our powerful queen, while the volcano glistens in a shiny gloss and the top glows with a giant, flickering ”XCX World” blue and pink neon sign... the Taxi helicopter is patrolling around the island perimeter under a grey sky... :defeated: I mean, is this NOT Charli’s aesthetic? lol

"...this ain't a hobby, yeah we do this everyday!" CTMP had better still be a thing...
