what do you mean where'd they get that info? it's literally designated as an album on streaming services and was promoted as such. her contract isn't over (allegedly). it's believed she signed a 5 album deal (which is pretty standard, afaik). HIFK is album # 4. True Romance, Sucker, Charli and How I'm Feeling Now are all officially "albums." Vroom Vroom is an EP. Number 1 Angel and Pop 2 are classified as 'mix tapes' by her label, so they don't count towards her album deal, but they're listed as albums on streaming services.

I am completely numb and shocked. my heart is broken for sophie, her friends and family, her fans and everyone in the world who will no longer get to experience the gift that was her art. she was truly one of the most visionary, original and authentic artists of our time. I don't know what to say, feel or think. complete devastation.

damnnnnnn, I never heard that anecdote of GFOTY not wanting to talk about Charli with her makeup artist lol. that's wild. I mean, that totally makes sense. If AG was creatively (and monetarily) inspired by his work with Charli then understandably that would leave him without time to work with GFOTY. But also, I'd hope that maybe she'd understand that AG's chasing a check. Although obviously Polly *is* GFOTY, AG's production really brought her concepts to life. His contribution definitely helped solidify the 'GFOTY' project's signature brand and chaotic style. IMO, she hasn't really been able to re-capture the magic of her AG collaborations with the new producers she's working with (one notable exception being 'Boy Next Door' - that song and video smashes!!!!!!).

GFOTY and Charli.....do we know what the friendship status / story is there? during the PC Music peak in 2015/2016 when Charli started rolling with them, I don't recall them interacting much and I don't think they've ever conversed on social media? love them both, just curious if they're friends.

ok this is kind of annoying to me. when did the narrative start that SOPHIE was against the 'commodification' of her art? she literally NEVER said that. Soph ALWAYS was about her money. Literally always. In her earliest interviews she said that she considers the genre of her music to be 'advertising' and gained her fame from Lemonade being featured in that McDonalds commercial. She has declined signing to a major, created her own publishing company so she makes more points on her records, and signed independently to retain rights over her masters. Plus remember when Brooke put her on blast for charging $10K for 'Oh Yeah?' Ms. Xeon is a business woman and a BUSINESS, WOMAN! She sold her remix album for $300 bucks a pop in 'clutch bag format' (her words) before putting it on streaming. she joked about 'leaking' her four albums, but i dont think that was ever gonna be the case. SOPHIE is about her purse and never has let anyone f*ck w/ her money. framing these leaks as anything less than damaging is really not it.

Vroom Vroom is not done. They don't have the domain (or I guess promote on social media anymore lol, I just looked wtf charli), but all of Nasty Cherry's music - including their recent 'I Am King' track a few weeks ago - has been released under Vroom Vroom Recordings and Warner Records UK. Is it a shell label for Charli to collect her coins EP'ing Nasty Cherry's music? Maybe. But it's not dead. Who knows - when she's done w/ her Asylum deal maybe she'll work out some type of distribution deal w/ WMG where they let her release what she wants under it. Interscope is not doing a good job w/ their artists rn lol. Their big names are thriving due to their fan bases (Selena, Gaga, Lana) but their mid-tier artists are flopping so hard. Ellie Goulding comeback? Botched. 5SOS? Flopped. Carly's Dedicated Side B re-up? No impact. The only promo they did for Selena was random interviews and street posters lol. They couldn't even convince her to tour the album. They distribute Blackpink, but their success stateside has soooo little to do with Interscope and alll to do with KPOP twitter. Columbia's even worse. Republic and Warner Records would be good for her. looks like Warner really restructured and they're taking their time building up / developing their roster - they have bebe, ashnikko, anne marie, carlie hanson - all charli contemporaries.
