I’m very neutral about those Nikki songs. Like they sound good I guess, more upbeat and all, but country is not the style I love the most. But releasing them alongside the cover albums could be a good idea (there’d be something for everyone I guess), or maybe they’ll end up on Nikki’s next album?

Violet had me curious… but behind the Iron Gâtes, with Patent Leather Do-Over, has me hyped. This is Lana at her darkest and the music is just so eerie and beautiful. I’m all on board for that project, much more than her Nikki collabs to be honest If it was done and she had submitted the final project, nothing is impossible. But as fast-working as she is, I don’t think she already had all the songs canned for LDR9 last fall.

Buddy’s was supposed to be released in February but vinyls postponed FJM’s album in April.

Totally true, and yet, the « problem », with Lana’s career, is that she sells big with her physical releases… and COVID delayed many vinyl pressings. I can’t see Interscope wanting to let her release anything without vinyls involved, therefore forcing months between albums…

You’re probably right. before summer, except for Buddy’s Rendezvous or an unexpected collab, it’s not very realistic. and yet, there are so many things that are contradictory: the DNC jacket for a future project looks like something is planned… but she is hanging with Nikki a LOT lately (the waves of the logo don’t sound very country to me)… AND she said she was working on her cover album last fall… lustforlife suggested she was sitting with her team to discuss what direction to take next… I mean, what is the truth?

Honestly nothing yet. She reactivated her FB and posted the same Ben and Ed post she had previously posted yesterday. BoZ tweeted (?) something about today being the day (surely not Lana related at all). But lustforlife stirred the pot by asking if we had any money left, so… we’re getting excited for absolutely nothing surely.

You guys are worse than me we’re going to be so upset if nothing important happens today regarding her… I’ll tell myself it’s probably just a coincidence that she’s back on FB, but I’m still thinking that her caption in weird fonts about loving all the boys she dated could be music related.

We still have to hear Buddys Rendez-vous and in my mind, it’s what I’m looking forward to. But a snippet will give us info on the direction of the new project and the degree of hype I’ll have towards it lol (I’m still very neutral on the country collabs). Lustforlife suggested she had recorded at least 15 songs of many genres and that she was sitting with her team to discuss the direction of the new album. Once this is settled, the album could shape up pretty fast if there are unreleased songs that could fit the vibe. im not starving for a new album yet, but her latest posts on HM makes me think she could start the teasing game soon (if it’s not already begun). I loved what she did with BB: the title revealed not long after COCC, a snippet a month before the single and album in October.

The first songs are good late summer. But the rest of it, with its minimalism, it’s pure winter. Title track especially.
