Love the intro but the song ends very abruptly… Maybe Oceanic Feeling will pick up right after Mood Ring

Mood Ring clearly is top tier of this album.

There a couple of songs that we thought were « boring » from her earlier albums that are now how she makes music: Hope, Change, Bartender, Happiness Is a Butterfly… Bartender has some of her most beautiful piano melodies ever.

I still secretly hope she included RCS or Loved You Then and Now on the album (even though the chances are pretty slim at this point). Maybe it’s not even that good, but the last time she wanted to name an album based on a line from a song, it was WHF, which is one of the best on Chemtrails.

I wonder if there was any truth to the early rumours that Solar Power and Mood Ring were supposed to be released within the same week. ?

Oh fuck! And on the 19th, it will mark the « Two-Month Mark »: we got the three singles two months after Chemtrails, and this week, we will hit that mark again.

So I’ve relistened to both Pure Heroin and Melodrama today, which I hadn’t done in quite a long time. PH is still my fave out of the two, and I hope SP’s consistency is closer to PH than Melodrama. Melodrama has some of her best songs, but I’m not a big fan of the slower ones, when the production often lack something or get interesting then « fade out ». The lyrics to some songs on Melodrama are not as interesting to me as some of her earlier songs. So far, I really enjoy the lyrics to SP and can’t wait hear the album in full, with the songs in context.

I got my info on lordestars on IG and they’ve been accurate all the time. Besides, her website has been updated with the mood ring charts. They did something similar with the other singles. https://www.lorde.co.nz/

Thank God for Lorde’s album this week to get my mind off BB. I’m sure my hype will come back when she finally posts the tracklist and preorder, but right now, I feel like I need to take a break from her cause there’s so little to talk about at this point. Anyways, she is always announcing things album-related when I don’t give a fuck and I’m really close to that point

I relistened to Stoned at the Hair Salon last week (had only listened to it when it came out), and it’s really good! It wasn’t as good in my memory as it actually is. Solar Power is good, but on its own, it sounds way too much like George Michael’s Freedom. Can’t wait for the other tracks this week!!!

I’m glad that site is down for me: I have no control whatsoever.

BoZ confirmed it also. About the whole album name being changed, it was speculation about what BoZ had said early July: to expect another name change, that the new snippet could be the title track. However, when we asked BoZ confirmation of the song’s title, he also confirmed the album was still called BB with the cover she posted early July.

Well there’s so much we can talk about when the only new tidbit of info we got is the title of the next single, not even the release date nor the tracklist And the fact that the cover and album title are the ones she posted July 3.

That’s why I don’t overplay them. Plus they are all « mood songs », just like Hope, and it’s not as likely as MAC or VB that I’ll get tired of them, since I have to be in a specific headspace to listen to them (contrary to the other two, that I could listen to anytime but got tired of when Norman was released)

I really think we misread her « revenge »: the revenge she intended was probably to keep on telling her story, no matter how unpopular or « unfeminist » they might be. I’m not even sure if there was even a song to tell the critics to fuck themselves. As for the June 1 post, well our girl clearly has ADD and one of its manifestation is impulsiveness: she felt like posting at that moment, without consulting her team or Interscope on the feasibility of that release . Plus she underestimates all the time how long an album takes to make, so she probably thought it would be done by June 1, even though we were already under 90 days before that date (which is how long it takes usually between sending the masters and making physical copies for release).
