He described the album after having heard it this spring, on his Twitter account. I think he took down the post. He said it was a stoner album and that her NFR moment was coming… So, technically, he didn’t say it was like VB, but it could be.

If Chemtrails is any indication, preorder was two months prior because of the 2307 vinyl variants lol. If the same is planned for BB, preorder should be out at least six weeks before release, I guess?!? I guess that the three singles gave her time to take her time haha! anyways, if preorder hasn’t happened by July 4, I expect some Kind of post around that date like she did with Chemtrails.

I really love the three singles and I still love Chemtrails, but summer here is early and gorgeous, and with the end of the pandemic, I must say that I prefer to listen to lighter and breezy shit. I still go back to the singles a couple of times a week, but I hope there’s some lighter stuff on the rest of the album if anything is released this summer.

My goal for June is cover, tracklist, preorder. And I think the album is coming post-Billie.

Théories about the next news album-related: - Since the beginning for the year, she posts every 20 days or in the range, so maybe this week (I think it’s been three weeks she released the three singles); - on BB, she says she skips spring, so June 20, since it’s the beginning of summer (and yet, she sang a couple of songs about July that didn’t get released in that month). Plus it’s her birthday but she never posted on that day that I remember ; - Chuck is about to have the prodigal child and all news are postponed til further notice.

I really think it’s ADD behaviour haha What still surprises me is when she is still not done with the record but blurts a date anyway, without having checked with Interscope for the feasibility. Like doesn’t she remember that she is never done by the first date given?!? or that it’s impossible for vinyl pressings?!?

You’re right about 4 years being long. Most of your examples are some of the shortest time between albums though and are not considered « standard ». Two years is usually standard

Just heard it. I like Dua, but was mostly curious for the Dan Heath arrangement. Won’t be adding that song to my playlist because I fucking hate cheap saxophone in pop songs. It was one of the worst 80s trends and that could have stayed in that decade, when we collectively decided the 80s needed revival.

I’d be surprised too. Later this summer or early fall maybe. Although I’ve seen a couple of leak accounts on Twitter saying that she is still scheduled to release it in July. I know they are « second hand » accounts and honestly, their info could check out since she doesn’t seem to update her company or distributors much more than she does with us. in the next week-10 days, if nothing happens, I’m erasing July as a release. That being said, she can take all the time she wants if she wants to polish BB a bit more: incredible music (at least to me) was just released or is about to (Wolf Alice ?, Marina and Lorde is apparently coming in June).

You’re right about the frequency of albums. Most artists deliver an album every two years. Three is considered long. Four and more is being in a writer’s block lol (or lazy.... ) usually, when an artist pulls out albums under two years, it’s because they don’t write their own music and are very popular so that popular composers can be on board to pen the songs.

Maybe we are spoiled, but I must say that I’m mostly tired of the way she promotes, giving small bits every three weeks. I don’t need her to post all the time at all, but maybe just an update about the album. I know it’s coming in the next year, but I meant that I needed to take a break from obsessing over anything she might give us, and get excited for Lorde for a change.

I’m honestly wondering if she will announce the next album just after BB, with an impossible date, therefore putting us in a never ending nightmare of limbos, expecting bits of news everyday

It’s the 100$ question, isn’t it? It really depends if she is done with the album or if she is still mixing / adding songs to it. Blake was seen in the studio this week, there was the picture with Mike and her team (from the WW session?)... Are those for Bb or something else? it could still be out on July 4 if the album was summited for the vinyl plant, and maybe the three singles are the only singles we’ll get before release?!?
