  1. I am not really surprised by the low numbers of the three singles. The songs are excellent, but to release three songs at once with zero promo, the songs need to be bombastic to speak on their own and to appeal to the masses. The three are so introspective, and I guess the « casual BTD listener » doesn’t click with them?!?
  2. I’d say preorder is in three weeks, maybe even around July 4. I see the album in August.
  3. The more I look at it, the more I find it ok. Anyways, BB’s cover is way better than the other two.
  4. Lol June 1 is almost around the corner, I don’t it’s coming this close (I don’t believe July 4 is still the release date).
  5. Lol I just saw that Tweet by diorleak I mean, » next few weeks » is really not info at this point ?
  6. Completely agree with this! as for bangers or hits or « pop » songs, we might have better chances with her collabs. I’m curious to hear her Bleachers collab, it could be a bop (though I am prepared to be disappointed if all she does is mumble three lines on the background)
  7. WW has the most accessible melody to me (as of now). My first listen, I thought TB had the best melody or more interesting one. Now, I’m not so sure.
  8. Totally! BoZ is doing a great job at feeding us the right amount of info to hype us up, but his song descriptions are really not it lol. Same with LMLYLAW.
  9. This is what I think too. And she did releases three songs, and not two like previous eras (and they don’t feel like « sister tracks » like she calls them). Like you said, her second date, so close to the first, makes me think it’s really coming this summer.
  10. A more alternative Chemtrails. The three singles have many shifts in rhythm. Chemtrails wasn’t going at all in that direction (and it’s why I feel it’s leaving me a bit high and dry: the production is there, very layered and rich though minimal, but the melodies stay simple, which never occurred in any album from her)
  11. I’m also wondering why there are so many songs out already. A couple of reasons come to mind: 1- a long record like you said 2- the three songs kinda form a super personal EP that would transition well into the « lighter tone » of the other songs. 3- it’s another VB and Mac situation and the record is not done (I really hope it’s not that reason, I’m still traumatized by the NFR pre-release).
  12. Ok I have finally been able to listen to the three songs with headphones, and read the lyrics, and here are my two cents for this album so far: Blue Banisters seems like the continuity of Chemtrails, its yang side. It’s Violet X Chemtrails X Norman. This explains why she wants to put it out rapidly, since it’s the follow-up to Chemtrails. Both Chemtrails and Bb remind me of Taylor’s folklore and evermore. Evermore is way more personal than Folklore, and the second one is more « experimental » at moments than Folklore. I expect a bit of « experimentation » with the other songs of this album as well. and she really is telling her story and this could be her sweet revenge. I don’t know how her team feels about a Grammy submission but if it’s on the table, the album should be out before the end of summer. The production of the three songs is still a bit « minimal » but the way the structure of the songs shifts is closer to what we got with Norman and that I loved (that’s my biggest problem with Chemtrails: the melodies are too simple, not really shifting from chorus to verses). Blue Banisters is Lana at the peak of her songwriting. The narration is simply superb. And the way she thinks about her new man and the music becomes so dreamy And when she eludes later that it didn’t work out Also love how it begins similarly to Chemtrails (by the way, both album titles are so beautifully poetic, put side to side). Text Book has an incredible story as well. It’s really « Daddy issues » Lana acknowledging it. The melody is a bit harder to follow, but I’m loving it more with each listen. Wildflower Wildfire is so beautiful in its vulnerability. I only wished that the last minute of the production began earlier in the song. If there’s a cover for this album, there’s a high probability it could be a Joan Baez one, since she referenced her at least twice already (Dance Til We Die and Bb).
  13. Since Zach produced Text Book, Dealer almost seems like a safe bet / certainty for this album (and thank God! I hate when she teases a song in interview and it ends up not making the cut).
  14. The three tracks do have strong Violet X Chemtrails? Norman? vibes
  15. An actual single is pushed to some radio stations I guess?!? ?‍♂️ we’re talking about three California stations lol
  16. The three songs sure are growers. I am impressed how « minimal » Mike Dean went with WW.
  17. Now we understand the dog pics she posted recently
  18. Well, let’s just say that many misjudged that Jack was the sole « destroyer » of Chemtrails i really like the three songs, but they are cimenting her reputation as singer songwriter, and I have yet to listen to them with good headphones.
  19. Pitchfork said that according to a memo from her company, the three singles are buzz tracks. So I guess a « lead » might be coming?
  20. I must admit... not what I expected. The lyrics seem so brilliantly deep, the melodies are still a bit minimal at first. BB is shaping up to be Chemtrails’s little sister. I love how we are still « moving » into the USA with this album, like a big road trip that began with Norman in California, took a step into the Midwest and is now into country territory.
  21. Ok the covers though not that I care that much, but can’t help to compare them to HBTb or National Anthem lol
