  1. ?!?? Maybe my expectations were so low with the shitshow of NFR’s prerelease, and wasn’t expecting anything more than a selfie for the cover, but I still find it’s one of her most beautiful covers.
  2. NFR wasn’t supposed to have any covers, until she changed her mind with Doin’ Time (and let’s be honest: it didn’t hurt NFR’s numbers to have that one included), so maybe COCC doesn’t have any either? I’m curious about the song they recorded together last year, if it fits COCC’s sound and is a good song, ok. But wasn’t it intended for his scrapped record? He is releasing a new album in July, but it’s more punk than what he usually does, so I wonder what will happen to that collab, if we’ll hear that one some day.
  3. I wonder if Interscope sat down with her after NFR, asking her not to ever do that again... That was tiresome to say the least.
  4. Well, major media such as Billboard seem to think it’s a musical album. I think we’ll get the spoken-word album later on (strongly think it will have poems from both poetry books).
  5. I love her selfies these days. It’s the most natural she looked in a long time and she is gorgeous. And it reflects how we all are at the moment: au naturel.
  6. If « If This is The End I want a boyfriend » made it to the album, it would be wise to get that song out « fast », in the next months. Not sure if « quarantine songs » would be à propos in 2021, if the world doesn’t live a second wave of the pandemic. I was skeptical too of an album in 2020, but when she announces a precise release date, I’m inclined to believe it’s happening (I know, I got clown makeup all over my face).
  7. Three months. Until then, it’s the leaking game, false Twitter accounts and info. Can’t wait.
  8. I love that the three songs on NFR there were the « trippiest » were the ones about drugs. Maybe if there are a couple of them on COCC, we’ll get that kind of production?
  9. I agree with 100%. The « political songs » from LFL were more peace-oriented than really politic. And you can pretty much always see them in another (and more personal) light. The same could be true with COCC if there are any songs mentioning the current state of the world. LFA wasn’t that precise either.
  10. It’s 90 days to allow physical releases as well. Could she release it digitally first, then have physical copies made a couple of weeks after, like Beyoncé did with her last albums? If so, she could rework COCC a bit (not sure it’s a good thing though) with the recent events. If she chose to have physical copies released later on, the leaks sure would be harder to get this time lol.
  11. I don’t even think that the social media storm surrounding her is that big, honestly. In the national media, artists in general don’t weigh that much at the moment, and we’re talking about one celebrity who is being unfairly « torn down » on Twitter (told y’a: no matter what she posts, they tear her down). The fandoms will calm down. And honestly, this speaks tons: to focus on one celebrity when the picture is clearly bigger is a fucking waste of time and speaks tons about those people’s motivations on the matter. (Not talking about any of us here, but of the other fandoms that attack her).
  12. I agree with you. She’s « ignorant » (as I am, honestly) probably because the POC around her are mainly musicians (from what we see in her socials) and « made it ». It’s easy to think that the world is exactly the same as your entourage, we all fall into that trap.
  13. Hey, no problem, I am very much «wordy» myself
  14. That is a very thought-out answer, thank you!
  15. Well, she is vocal when it comes to what matters to her (her version of feminism, mass shooting involving children). I'm not saying that the racial persecution doesn't touch her, but she is responding the way most white folks are: I didnt think it was that bad. Bobby, from Queer Eye, made a terrific post about what is White privilege (https://www.instagram.com/p/CA1dAI2pWgE/). It was enlightening for me, and the situation in the States these days must have been for her too, especially since the POC around her must be singers and persons that have succeeded and do not represent the vast majority of that community. As for the criticism she is receiving with her recent posts, this is down right BS and wanting to tear her down. The looting video first posted was probably to film how things are going down, that her city is shaken up. She removed it after thinking what message it was sending. The rest has the right tone.
  16. I had this discussion with my BF this morning, as what could be done, after the protests and donations. The leadership in the US must make a stand, but what could they promise that would not only calm down the protesters, but also not seem like total BS to calm down the troops and do nothing afterwards? What would be the next step in repairing 400 years of injustice? What would be the first step towards change?? One step sure is to prosecute after having suspended shady cops, but what could be the next step after that? And with that dumb president in office, responding with force, not understanding anything about anything, representing the white establishment that can get away with anything, I surely don't know what will happen next.
  17. Don’t worry, sweetie, you did no harm It’s a very accurate portait of 2020, sadly. But with everything going on, art can bring a bit of solace in these hard times. I honestly had no hopes for LDR7 before 2021, until the two posts that confirmed it. Unless she completely changes the direction of the album, I think it should be out in September. As for her « sales » and such, NFR was #3 it’s first week, but it’s doing fine on streaming platforms. NFR didn’t win the AOTY Grammy, so maybe her company is letting her handle it as she pleases?
  18. WoW that was depressing to read. True, but depressing. I think the Sept 5 release will pull through. If she does a song named Quarantine Grenadine, you don’t release that very long after the quarantine. And it’s in September : a lot of things can happen until then. And Gaga just released Chromatica, I didn’t check her numbers, but people are talking about this record (mostly out of the US) even if the US are torn apart.
  19. I might be connecting things that don’t need to be, but Ed mentioning she was from a liberal family / upbringing, and both siblings and father posting has me saying she posted “through them”. Trolls would come back at her no what she would post at the moment.
  20. Both Charlie and Chuck posted about it on their IG stories.
  21. I think she references the idea of “America” in the 60s, when everyone thought the American dream was possible, and when they were the most influential country in the world, growing and becoming richer. We know it was far from perfect and that there were a lot of issues even back then and that it came at a price (by exploiting other countries), but the general feeling was it was a great time, a great period if you were privileged enough to profit from that expansion.
  22. I really think this is a stretch if you don’t mean it as a joke.
  23. This is a very sensitive subject for everyone and the situation is touchy for her these days, to say the least. Yes, she could say something. Maybe she doesn’t comment because she doesn’t have all the facts? Let’s remember she did that on the whole Middle Eastern situation and she got a lot of backlash. Plus if she does have all the facts, and is enraged by the situation, imagine the comments she would receive even if her post was spot-on (“look who’s talking? The same bich who called out black women a week ago! The same woman who dated a fucking cop!”). I don’t know if not saying anything is a good strategy, I really don’t. And yes, it is a tragedy that modern country still has had racial persecution for more than 400 years. But I really think her recent antics and the reactions received stop her from doing anything: to be her, I wouldn’t want to return to the lion’s den.
  24. I don’t comment much about her when it’s not her art involved because I feel it’s her own life. On the recent events, do American artists comment much on it / take a stand? I don’t follow any other artist than Lana, to be honest. It might have been mentioned earlier, but Sean is a cop and he said they were still friends... Can she take a stand without shading him? And it’s true that her shitty week with that now infamous post kinda was fucking bad timing.
