  1. Plausible... but I sure hope not!!! That’s too long!
  2. Interesting! Yosemite should have been with the BAR ep. pretty much all of the love songs would have fitted there. I am curious about LDR6, for the sound of it and track listing. As time goes by and as chances of having Yosemite on LDR6 could go slimmer by the day (Lana tires easily of anything she does as months go by), i think an EP between LFL and LDR6, including BAR, Yosemite and a couple of outtakes from LFL, could have been a good idea, a good way to « extend » the LFL era while still offering something new to the fans.
  3. IMO, LFL might be her only album whose songs are difficult to listen to without the one before and the one after. Or if you break down the album, you have to do so by listening to trios of songs, like Heroin-Change-Get Free. All her other albums are super cohesive, but you can listen to Pretty When You Cry on its own, for example. LFL kinda lacked that. Anyways, to me, her most cohesive album is HM, closely followed by UV. LFL does tell a messier story, one where she is looking everywhere. I love that album, even if it didn’t have that « vintage magic » (with UV and HM, it felt as if I had found two old vinyls in a flea market, by a forgotten bluesy singer from another age).
  4. I believe LFL will be the album we will go back to in a couple of years and we’ll better understand its place in Lana’s discography and storytelling. And I don’t get the « this album has not aged well », since music these days draws a lot of its energy and beats from the past decades. I get that LFL had a lot of trap beats that are really everywhere these days, but BTD was really contemporary as well, with its hip hop beats and samples (the strings were the classical element to the mix). UV and HM truly were rooted in deep classical genres, making them timeless. But we’ll have to see what is LFL’s legacy in the years to come. I wouldn’t be surprised, if the polical climate worldwide changes, that the hated « political » songs from the record find a « second life » or a new meaning in the future.

  6. I haven’t yet written anything on the matter because I know how the whole geopolitical situation in the Middle East is touchy to say the least. And I am not that informed on the subject either, so I didn’t comment because I lacked Facts. But I know that many artists have been criticized for doing so in the past. In the end, I believe she did the right thing by canceling her show. The « neutral » position on the subject is the safest at the moment for an artist (if you perform in Israel, you have to perform in Palestine as well to « balance it out). She had good and pure intentions (to please her fans, to « be the change you want to be in this world », to bring her contribution, that her message for peace through music could be a water drop in a ocean , hopefully causing a storm that would wash away all the mess we did over the Ages). It may be naive to think so, but I get where it came from, and it was from a pure heart. Thanks for your inputs on the matter. The debate got heated, but it was inevitable since the whole thing is soooooo heated as well.
  7. Maybe the album was pretty much done until she met Jack A. and decided to rework it. Like what happened with UV what she met Dan A. Who knows?
  8. It's never going to happen, but... Imagine Lana releasing her acoustic demos for many of the songs of LFL... Throw in RBFY and Yosemite and here is the folk album so many of us would die for.
  9. The rock rock album style would really suit her well... but as weeks go by without news and as a 2019 release is more and more plausible, would that armosphere fit a winter release? Just wondering here...
  10. If she's mad, I don't get it. I mean she is cute AF on that picture. It's not as if she is on a toilet, minding her business or something. It's really too quiet: usually, we wouldn't even mention this kind of «news» .
  11. Same. I am all for Lana taking her time before releasing an album. I don't mind the silent treatment via social media (LFL was teased wayyyy too soon, and I hope LDR6 won't be, though all signs point to that). But to tease HIaB in late March is still teasing too soon. If she releases LDR6 in 2019 like some of you think she will, it would almost be a complete year of nothing between the two. Hopefully, it won't come to that and the album will be out this fall. is it just me or is she less and less in the studio these days? Maybe the whole thing's done
  12. she's not pregnant, guys, come on!!! What's with all the body-shaming lately? if she gets pregnant at some point, I hope she doesn't do what every singer does when they are new parents: write a fucking boring ballad about how they are now so much more complete and happy now they have reproduced.
  13. It's a great song, I think, one that needs to be listened to with headphones on. She sings pretty much all the lines, along Cat. Feels a little bit less "deluxe back up singer" than some collabs we had this year (Borns and Jonathan Wilson). And the lyrics are great. Her voice and cat's blend well, maybe a little too well, maybe this is why many think that she is doing nothing on the track when, in fact, she's there the whole time.
  14. The beginning of the song reminds me of Kill Kill, in a way!
  15. I think it has more to do with the fact that Lana is not a vain big-shot singer. Her approach seems to be: how would you like me on this song? What does the song need? She seems to let the artist lead and respect the direction needed, rather than impose her presence. It is very sweet indeed, but kinda lets us on our appetite in such a drought lol
  16. Honestly, you have to listen to this song with headphones on. Lana is on it the whole time, singing pretty much all the lines. It’s better than her doing the « hey’s » on God Save Our Young Blood. And the lyrics are nice!
  17. The music industry has a very large definition of the word «featuring». it's mostly a publicity stunt, honestly. And it seems that the featurings are getting more and more minimal as the years go by... It should be renamed to «very famous back singer» lol.
  18. No body-shaming on our Queen! I always loved that she was beautiful and NOT on the verge of anorexy. (Sorry for the typo, btw!)
  19. I am curious for things to come. I really loved LFL, although the drama with the prerelease date and all was a bit much. I hope we don’t Get that with LDR6. I loved that we got song titles from different interviews. Love had a great video. The visuals for this era were great. But what surprised me the most with this era was her world tour: her best live vocals yet, an amazing song listing that brought many live surprises, and her presence on stage was just like a lioness roaring. She proved with this era that she was a force to be reckoned with. I will say this again, but I believe that this album is a solid one and one that will be better understood when LDR6 is out. It was a diverse album, who gave us solid gems and new things that did not feel out of place IMO.
  20. I consider Lana to be alt-pop, though she is categorized by iTunes in the alternative category. But quite frankly, guys, the debate of Lana’s genre is not super relevant because the genres are a bit blurry these days : pop borrowed from RnB sounds, from Latin or even country, alternative became more popish... One thing’s for sure though: Lana’s music has many influences and that’s what makes it so rich. And if we compare her to other pop female artists, she has a very unique sound and voice (thank God).
  21. Dan Heath was involved with that song. As much as I’d love him to be around much more into Lana’s career, I am realistic: it won’t probably happen. He is a sucessfull composer and to have his’ and Lana’s timelines fit must be hard. Besides, we pretty much already have a Dan Heath produced Lana album, in a way, since he got involved on a couple of songs of Paradise (Ride, American, Gods and Monsters, Bel Air) and the songs she made for soundtracks. Dan Heath was involved on both songs.
  22. 13 Beaches also. WTWWAW is cinematic (so maybe not atmospherical, but close).
  23. I wasn’t so sure about Jack Antonoff being involved, but whatever he has produced never takes away from the artist’s essence: St.Vincent still sounds like St.Vincent, same for Lorde and Taylor Swift, maybe just with a bit of a twist. Anyways, on all her records, Lana brings something different but thanks to our girl’s stubbornness, it is always her show, her own thing. So i’m confident about this Jack involvement.
