I always thought UV had been postponed a bit because the Black Keys released their LP at the beginning of May (I think it was May 4th). So, maybe not to overshadow Dan’s release, it got pushed back a little. That’s what I made of it anyways.

OB was a big improvement on that regard: album title with lead and preorder, no BS date… apparently it was the exception to the rule

Delay is always possible. However, it depends on how far she is in the process: if it’s coming to an end, she could meet the « six month before release » deadline for vinyls and a September release could be happening. but that the big question : where is she in the process? Nearly done? Still writing and recording?

I was thinking the same. She needs a big single for Coachella and, well, I don’t see that happening with Henry even if I love the song already… Or maybe she could release a one-off single that doesn’t match Lasso?

I really like Training season, a little bit more than Houdini, which I thought was « cute »! TS could have had more « Justin Parker » on it, but it’s still there and well, it’s a Dua song, so I guess he didn’t want to overshadow her with his production. She’s been making very good pop since FN and although I dont spend my days listening to her, when I’m in the mood for that genre, Dua does the trick wonderfully.

Lasso being scrapped is not something I’m scared of (and it’s not because I don’t like country haha), because when she does have the album’s name (even if it changes), she does have an idea of where things are going. Im more concerned with her time management for a September release to be honest: she’d have to meet the « five or six month prior to release » deadline if she wants it to happen on that date. Not to be a party pooper, but I can’t see a country album from Lana she wouldn’t be on since we know they recorded a couple of songs together

I hope the next song she’ll release will not be part of Lasso if it’s being released soon (like an expected collab or a soundtrack song). I’m super curious about Lasso but don’t want a prerelease that drags on for six months +. However, I’d be here for a magazine interview to officially « launch the era » like she did with OB.

According to a somewhat reliable insider, she recorded a 3 minute collab with Quavo, but nobody knows if it’s for Lasso or something else.

Nothing but blue skies from now on I really love the outro. She sounds like she is a ghost trapped in an abandoned space station. Really love those late sixties-seventies retro space aesthetics. Broken Bells went with those sounds on their latest and it’s glorious. Lana needs to come back to jazz for a full album or an EP

A somewhat reliable insider on ATRL spilled that Lana and Quavo (is that even his name? Idk ) recorded a 3 minute collab and we’re debating if it’s for Lasso or another project (that insider doesn’t know either)

I don’t know why, might be because of my Blue Skies high, but I hope Lasso will be bold and I can see a rap collab on it (strangely enough).

Intro and outro sound spacey, like you’re in orbit and then the jazzy Lana track « begins ». Clear vocals, faster than most songs she does, she makes the lyrics her own and it outros with the jazzy sounds again with her « mumbling » in echo. It’s a serve!

I didn’t think I’d get spacey trippy AND jazzy Lana at the same time
