SpoilerAs much as I enjoy this album, I hope she takes a break after this record before releasing the rest of the taylor versions/new music. This album deserves praise & recognition, but because of how overexposed she is right now, the lashings will be stronger than ever.

Yay! I remember loving to read your posts on GGD, so I'm sure anything you have to say will be great to read.

My most unpopular opinion, open at your own risk:
SpoilerI do not like "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?" at all..

QuoteFlorida!!! (and Fresh out of the Slammer) is the most LDR song she's ever made. Sad that she had to give Lana SOTB instead of this one

SpoilerI keep coming back to "Down Bad." Omg it's so GOOD

SpoilerThe album is so good to me because it combines the summery 80's nostalgia of 1989, the folky ambiance & lyricism of folklore/evermore, the bedroom pop of Midnights, and the sonic variety of Red. It has a bit of everything for everyone. Although I can tell this will be a transition album for her, I'd consider it part of my top three from her catalog (with folklore and RED TV)

I'm glad to try everything here! But I realize that I'd tell people to start chronologically with Gaga as well if someone asked me, so It's a whole new soft sensual world here. Thank you to everyone
Please let us know here what you think while you're on your journey!

Personally I would throw LFL in there too because it’s great bridge from BTD to NFR (I think UV and Honeymoon are better albums but they are a little more secluded in their sounds).
This is the correct answer

Pleasantly surprised by this album as someone who doesn't really care for Taylor as a person like that. It's how I wanted Midnights to sound like, while still clearly in that same universe as a sister album like Folklore/Evermore, Reputation/Lover

The album is very Midnights coded, which I expected, but much better in terms of consistency/quality. Some songs are hilarious too

This is why I love how Lana refuses to promote her music. Despite releasing new albums at the same rate, maybe even quicker than Taylor, all of Lana's album releases feel super special because she's not in the public spotlight 24/7
