  1. Urgh, unpopular opinion but I'm bored... Like she said she wanted to change the future of pop music (unrealistic, I know) but I don't think we've seen that at all. There's been elements in both Number 1 Angel and Pop 2 - but nothing ground-breaking, like she didn't change pop music - she just explored PC music and used autotune a lot!

I'm not hating, it's been fun. But 1999, like, I can't be doing with an album (or EP or whatever) that sounds like dated noughties pop refreshed or Venga Boys outtakes. Girls Night Out and 1999 are a sound I think she avoid from now on, personally.

I'd rather her master a more current sound and reappear with a project that's cohesive and still Charli but also on trend (kinda like MØ's Forever Neverland or Tove Lo's Blue Lips) or she really needs to ditch the PC music and start a fresh and maybe attempt to change the pop music formula in an impactful way.

I'd argue that the Vroom Vroom EP was pretty ground breaking, I mean, I certainly did not expect a pop singer like her to drop something like that at the time.

And if anything, I feel like Number 1 Angel and Pop 2  absolutely felt  like the PC Music crew bending to her creative vision and playing it a lot safer than you'd expect them to (save for a few tracks)as opposed to Vroom Vroom which clearly felt like SOPHIE doing whatever the hell she wanted and Charli just rolling with it.

  2. I hope she shops for new producers for her next album, I liked Reputation a lot more than most but I don't want a third serving of Martin/Shellaback produced tracks... and I liked Antonoff so much more on Melodrama.

I feel like tracks like Look What You Made Me Do and This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things would've been so much better in the hands of the PC Music boys, and somebody like Arca could've probably handled a good portion of the rest better, and I'm not even an FKA fan.

That said, Dress and King of My Heart are definitely in the running for favorite TS tracks ever.

  3. I wil say, despite the bad mix, as a less-than-fan of the loudness war, I love how quiet this demo is... it's pretty crazy how higher I can crank it up without  getting ear fatigue compared to the final master.

  4. She even borrowed Sophie wobble sound! Taxi is shook!

Most of her production credits are attributed to Ayesha Erotica but Boy Sim also produced a few tracks, and I believe he's going to be at Charli's Femmebot Fantasy in Dallas, and I'm High's producer posts on the PC Music subreddit, small world.

  5. imagine SOPHIE x Carly  collab

don't think its happened tbh bc we, as a human race, truly aren't ready for that power yet  :ohno:

    That'd be something else alright.

I kind of think AG Cook or easyFun would suit her vocals better though.

  6. I just saw Jackscepticeye's gameplay of What Remains of Edith Finch and holy fuck

If you have a spare hour and a half go see it or buy the game (I definitely will when I have some spare money IT'S SO WORTH IT for that incredible job the devs have done)

    INCREDIBLE

I'm a Life is Strange superfan but that's BEYOND what LIS franchise has achieved

Yeah, I really gotta play this.

Also wish I was motivated enough to get back to Nioh, so good, yet so incredibly frustrating...

  7. SURVEY: would you still f-ck with Charli if she went towards a polished pop sound similar to Rita Ora's new single "Let You Love Me"?

I'm glad easyFun is getting work but that song sounds so sanitized... I'm glad miss XCX is (mostly) above that.
