    Carly Rae Jepsen

She's gone full Carly Minogue on this one and I'm absolutely delighted by it. That said, I feel like if I they took a couple tracks from the last album and removed 1 or 2 from this one they probably could've delivered an EMOTION-level LP. But great effort regardless.

    The 1975

Was looking through the production credits and noticed DJ Sabrina the Teenage DJ credited on Happiness, cool stuff, hopefully they get more production gigs in the future.
  3. Was looking through stuff tagged as Noise Pop on the RYM charts and saw NTMT on there (though it was a couple months away from release), I remember counting the days to the release back then even though I'd never heard of her before (mostly because there really weren't a whole lot of women making music labeled as Noise Pop, and I've always been a huge fan of this niche little subgenre), gave the album a spin the day it came out a really liked it. Wouldn't call myself a superfan but I still really do like NTMT, nearly a decade later.
  4. The RateYourMusic charts are great if you want to discover different genres, I went through a good chunk of their top 5000 when I first really got into music, over a decade ago. Or if you just want to discover artists similar to the ones already like, you can just search by genre.
  5. I agree, I like the production of this new song quite a bit but both the delivery of the vocals and songwriting aren't doing much for me, at least for now. Glad she's still putting out music though.

    Taylor Swift

Yeah, I just assumed it would've been top 10 due to your user name. Anyway, really looking forward to Red TV, enjoyed the bonus tracks from the Red era even more than a good chunk of the actual album songs. I wonder if Battle's gonna be included... that's Red era, isn't it?

Edit: Wait... Style isn't on there?

I have to admit the Fearless re-recordings didn't do much for me, even though that's probably my favorite album of hers. Her voice sounded great to, I guess it was her delivery that felt kind of flat on those songs. That said, super excited for 1989 and Reputation and really curious to hear Red and Speak Now, wasn't big on the originals but I think the better vocals could totally win me over.

Kept waiting for Jon Hamm to show up in the video.
  10. If only being an artist were this straightforward... I think the closest answer is yet another question; how much progress has been made in the past months?

I'd say I favor the SOPHIE demo to be honest , even if it feels a bit barebones.

That Perfume Genius remix by A.G. is crazy good.
  13. Gave up on Sekiro at the very last fight of my second run after trying seemingly forever (Bell + no Charm), brilliant game but man, I'm too bad.
  14. Phoebe Bridgers' second Tiny Desk show. Still can't get into the actual album, but something about this session is just magical.

Disco Darling is pretty nice, I like the chorus on it better than on Window, Favourite Night is easy Top 5 for me, really nails the Fever-era Kylie vibes.

That edit is meant to replicate the live version.

Can't believe it's been nearly 11 years since Third, hopefully they'll release a new album, eventually. Remember seeing them live in 2011, they were incredible.

    Slayyyter

I'm High wasn't produced by him as far as I know.
  19. Finally caught up to Berserk and now I remember why I'd stopped reading for 2 years, the wait between chapters is something else.

    Mr Little Jeans

More Mr. Little Jeans is always welcome. Can't believe Pocketknife was 4 years ago already, and that EP she dropped 2 Yaers ago war pretty solid, too.

Fair enough, Nuclear Seasons certainly helps proving your point. I don't feel length should be a factor in determining a project's quality, and if anything, Vroom Vroom's brevity just makes it a more enjoyable listening experience in my opinion. I'm not gonna lie and say I don't feel it could've gone on longer every time I listen to it (TKO would've made a great addition), but on the flip side, Number 1 Angel and Pop 2 had quite a few tracks I simply didn't care for and I honestly can't bring myself to listen to them as full projects anymore because of that. And really, short EPs that are much better received than full albums really isn't that common if you follow the indie scene a bit, I'll name drop Pavement's Watery Domestic and My Bloody Valentine's You Made Me Realise as great examples, if you've ever heard of them.

Make Believe is like Sweet Trip never broke up, so good.
  23. The new Carly Rae Jepsen album, and whatever SOPHIE is supposedly dropping before year's end.
