What the one word she mentions on the album but has never mentioned before that explains ‘pretty much everything’?
Not being friends with her mother or something?

Don’t really understand LB turning their nose up because Lana is singing Arcadia when it directly addresses and hones in on her emotions and experience from her position. It’s empowering, I’m glad she’s doing this one. Emphasising her story and asserting her authority over her vision and life. Love it, gorgeous song especially on the second verse

SpoilerWhen Rob was like ‘we managed to get sweet carolina in one take’ was he trolling because he said one word at the start of the song? Is he backing vocals? I was hoping for a verse I’m very confused

She’s out there on that swing like the archmage of winterhold - I love the woman. The finger up at the end.. mmmh

I think she’s acknowledging that due to her status as a star, she is taken care of quite easily in the privilege that comes with that status, and was so in her own bubble that she had been ignorant to certain things and walked into looking like a bad person? I think… I remember Lorde said recently that she had her IV come to her rather than having to struggle in going and getting help, which is informing my interpretation -

For the single covers of the three singles, was there ever an explanation for the bruising on her chest? And in what order do I listen to them in? I want to try and get into them more

Briefly thought the ‘weird synth’ was not meant to be a part of the song
realised it was edited out by one of us in the supposed ‘hq leak’
I pray for u dealer, u and that off key synth in the second verse of yours
Do you think the album version will have this synth?

2 minutes ago, yassgrenade said:this song reminds me so muchhh of this movie as a whole. the lyrics being about avoiding and trying to hide away from someone or something with bad or even evil intentions. the slow heavy drums reminding me so much of the soundtrack, along with the screaming reminding me of so much of the actual shrieking and screaming that takes place in the film. I fear i will have to make an edit to the movie once the song is in HQ.
I will be streaming the edit I fear

I’m acquiring some psychedelics within the next twenty four hours and playing dealer on loop, this song is one of my favourites she’s done? Instantly love it, such a weird atmosphere, I’ve never heard anything like it

Maybe it’s my mental illness sucking joy out of everything but text book, WW and especially Blue Banisters are all really stale for me since release I’ve barely revisited them, and I find it hard to get excited over leaked songs making it onto the track list even though I haven’t really listened to them. Hope this album will be good though whatever it ends up being.

I am thinking the same as you, I wish she seemed sure of what she was putting out like in the older days. I miss when she seemed really passionate about the records. I also saw someone say that Blue Banisters looks sort of like a ‘best of’ situation.I also had a thought, which is a bit of a reach, that goes in line with her “iM WrItiNg my StoRy and NoBodY can telL it But mE” kind of thing where I feel she’s doing a Hounds of Love type of album where perhaps the one half is telling a cohesive story with connected songs and the other are songs that she thinks people want her to put out, to draw people in to the actual story (like The Ninth Wave, side b of hounds of love). I’m just fantasising about this because of the dogs on the cover really. Probably a big reach, as I feel we know a lot about her story and I don’t know what else she wants to reveal.

What a great album, after first listen I love it. My favourite that I want to replay over and over is Flowers, but I also love Goodbye and New America

Has anyone discussed the blotches on her chest on the single covers in comparison to the Instagram covers of the same image where there are no blotches? Am I looking into this too much or are they scars/bruises?

Whether you love, hate, or feel the need to speak up on any of the references in her late music or her execution of it-
The expression of what she was talking about in PTP was pretty nice, and whether it was what you wanted it to be or if you think it’s execution was hideous or performative (in mans world or whatever), you’re talking about the topics now in here, which is quite a nice effect to have come out of someone’s art.
For those looking in on what you’re all chatting, they can build up their stance on said topics more, and maybe make a more refined decision on who they’d want to spend their time talking to through what they read on forums like these, and progress their own understanding and opinions. I’m going to choose to enjoy the new stuff, it’s clear where her intentions are. -
She’s doing a Dua Lipa moment. Took on all of the criticism she got from L+F. I really like the look and sound of everything but ‘Goodbye’ better not be a departure song saying goodbye to music ?

I like the contrast of the verses and chorus, I also like the melody and how the song builds towards the end. It’s exciting to see her back to her roots-ish with the more eclectic sound. I think the stylistic choice for the song and video worked really well, excited to hear the album

Part of the reason why I enjoy watching Lana as a person is because she doesn’t conform to industry expectations and ideals and is firm in her own beliefs. It would be really boring for me if she had a social media team and all of her posts were run of the mill. I know that it’s disappointing when she doesn't stick to her word when it comes to release dates etc but at the end of the day I don’t want an album that isn’t done from her or any other artist. A lot of artists don’t even let you in on the fact that they’re preparing an album. I think she knows exactly what she’s doing announcing her album titles so early keeping a constant anticipation from listeners who really enjoy her. She doesn’t actually owe her fans anything, we are all here by choice and it’s depressing seeing people get upset over a popular artist not releasing an album quick enough for them.
If she is tested negative as Chuck said and is showing up wearing a mask she thinks is beautiful then it’s really her prerogative and only putting herself at risk, she is entitled to do so whether it’s a bad look or not. I think she has made it abundantly clear over the years that when it comes to people having a say on what she does or says- she doesn’t care in the slightest. She is living for herself. At times her communication isn’t constructed with any tact but anyone with the brain capacity to extend their thoughts a bit further than the surface can read between the lines and understand what she’s getting at.
