Yes, Mars Argo was besties with that Matt Bennett, and then Titanic was. Ariana Grande also had the same teacher at some point (you might remember the botched Japanese BBQ grill / 7 Rings tattoo) and there's a photo somewhere of her sharing a banana with Titanic, although I can't find it currently

Very interesting to hear all the connections you've shared!

I'm more casually into Mars and Poppy but I already know there's a lot of complexities between them

Correction: It wasn't a college, it was a very specific Japanese language class in LA; and after Mars felt she had no option but to leave because of them, Poppy and Titanic were there snapping photos with Matt Bennett (Mars' friend who she was going there with), showing up to the parties, etc. :biblio:

They did the exact same thing with Mars' other avenues. Mars was working for a niche fashion brand in Japan (Little Sunny Bite) as a model and voice actress. Suddenly, the flow of Mars-related content stops and then Poppy's there doing similar voice work, they use "Money" in a commercial, she and Titanic are taking photos with the founder (who was Mars' bestie before all of this), etc. Just flat-out stalking Mars and stealing her life.

    Nickelodeon Matt Bennett?

I’m at the listening event in SF it’s about to start, lots of people here but they have so many posters I think everyone will get one

    Ahhh that's where I should've been :crai:

Hope you had an amazing time!!!! Do you think given the amount of people that were there, I should'nt bother going in later this week to see if they have more posters available?

I don’t know why but I feel like this would be really awkward to attend and ruin my first listening experience of the album. I just can’t imagine standing around for over an hour just listening to the album over the speakers with the other people in a record store.

Sorry it’s just not my thing:awkney:

i think my main motivation for going would just be to get the wristband, poster etc :headache:

My store says they’re playing the album, will be giving out free promo items, and there’s gonna be a major raffle. Probably some signed LPs or something

Perhaps the BTD vinyls she was recently signing are being given away at certain locations ????

I thought it was a pretty good stage-to-show! Visuals, actors, choreo, Minchin's songs ofc :gclap:

  6. Even though I love the theater and getting to go to musicals, it's rare that I end up going. 2022 was a good year for me bc I got to go to TWO shows! Moulin Rouge! in November and Beetlejuice in December, both fun and different takes on the movies that I love.

Planning on Mean Girls for Feb 2023 :)

  7. It's been like 15 ish years since I last got to go to Disneyland :'(

I've been wanting to take my little sister in addition to going for myself but she ended up going with one of her friends - she said even though she had fun, using the Genie app made it stressful ? Anyone have any opinions on the app?

I have a thing for French musicals. 'Notre Dame de Paris' is honestly iconic. It's the adaptation of the famous novel 'The Hunchback of Notre-Dame' by Victor Hugo. I was pretty young when the musical came out, but I remember my parents playing the soundtrack often. The whole thing might look a little outdated nowadays, but I think the performances are still pretty solid! Oh, memories.

Omg I think it was way back when I was in middle school I was going through a Hunchback phase (still one of my top Disney's to this day) and I had one of the show's songs randomly downloaded on my iPod - I don't speak french, didn't know what they were saying and didn't know anything about the stage production  . . you brought back some memories lol

Well, with the LA in person pop up shop at least we’ll know if there are other things to come so I’ll hold off until tmr to buy anything. Plus getting to see them in person (pics people post) will be a plus.

I was getting my order in but I stopped when you brought up a great point about waiting for irl pics!

i enjoyed reading the review and really liked this line:

In some ways Banisters feels like the purest distillation of the Lana Del Rey project, the grandeur and grasping of her earlier albums fused with her more recent music’s romance and scope. The twinkling closing track “Sweet Carolina” reads like a parody of Lana lyrics, a blast of found poetry for a broken era: “You name your babe Lilac Heaven/ After your iPhone 11/ ‘Crypto forever,’ screams your stupid boyfriend/ Fuck you, Kevin.” Only Lana could make this work.

    only tea was spilled here

Wait, that's one of her lyrics?? NO joke I have three different Kevins who are literally ruining my life rn - yall the connection her and I share . . . her mind :mj3:

  11. Idk if I'm just late to this or just wrong, but I turned on my macbook (volume was on) and the startup note sounded exactly like the first note of TG, so much so that I thought the song started playing from somewhere. Kinda brilliant if you ask me considering the livestream lyric and theme of modern consumerism weaved throughout the song  :wat:

TYSM!!!! and yeah i don’t think i’m going to watch the others in the series, i was just looking at their wikipedia’s and they all got negative reviews :awk:

IMO the vintage 70's aesthetic really gives it some flavor :sass: and makes it grittier and scarier to watch so the modern/dark look of the others is more unnapealing

I actually watched the original The Last House on the Left bc the 60s/70s look made me interested, but the movie was so bad I don't recommend it lol

I’m currently watching ‘The Texas Chain Saw Massacre’ for the first time, as part of a 17 film long Horror movie binge I’m doing this summer. please recommend me some good slasher/old cult classic horrors for me to add to my list!

I enjoyed TCSM a lot but I don't think I'd care to watch the other ones, esp the remake :/

This post was trending the other day, maybe a pic you could use as a reference
