  1. YES and that's pretty much all my coworkers and I use at work, those and sharpies

  2. :legend:Happy 10 year anniversary to me discovering The Strokes and becoming so entranced that I became a fan :legend:

Kind of surreal of how clearly I can mentally go back to this moment in 2011 and "see them for the first time" as a fan now. They're my all time favorite :gclap:

I stumbled across this movie thanks to a fan made Lana music video and it was the best day of my life :trisha:

I'm just obsessed with the aesthetic. Elaine is one of the reason I let my hair grow (I still didn't cut it and in the end I think I won't :toofloppy: ) and started wearing vintage. I don't know if Anna Biller has a project right now, but I can't wait for her next movie.

I think I'll watch it again tonight to celebrate the thread :bebe:

Last I saw she announced a reworking of Bluebeard but I guess it's still a work in progress :')

Also I'm really surprised a thread wasn't made when the movie came out, better late then never tho

I love this movie so much (as well as Viva). It’s exactly what I wanted out of a modern film. The cinematography, the acting, the costumes, the sets, the story— everything about it is perfect. And I love how it’s kinda written like a pre-code film, you don’t get a lot of characters like Elaine anymore. Plus I do always love films about witches (especially ones where they use more realistic type spells and rituals, which this one does). It’s a shame though how often men seem to misunderstand it but I guess that’s how all the best art is lol. Also, back in 2017 I had a Love Witch ice cream cake for my birthday. I just love you his film so much. Anna Biller is definitely one of my favourite filmmakers of all time.

And ice cream cake?? Post a pic if you can!

I watched this movie last summer because someone on here (maybe it was you @VioletPrincess?) had their signature as just a gif of Elaine staring. I did a reverse google image search of it and found the movie. It sounded interesting and, oh it was! Anyways I recommend and it is def a lovely witchy movie. If you liked the LFL trailer and wanted LFL to be a witchy album like the title track demo was, you’ll probably enjoy this movie!

Hmm, not me as I've never had a sig, but I have rec'd it a lot on the boards! This movie is very popular among Lana fans for good reason  Glad you were able to find it and enjoy it <3

Since this movie has a thread of its own now, this is something I put together using the Evanescence instrumental Unraveling.

They're so beautiful together, you did an amazing job!

I was contemplating on making a sub section for unofficial videos in the main post but wasn't sure since they're 'unofficial' - I had a SotW Lana cover music vid in mind :/

i use this site: https://postimages.org it makes you insert a picture from your device or you can put an image link..in both ways it will give you all the kind of links you need to post it, but the proper one for this site is the second kind of link, which ends with .jpg, .png, or .gif!

This info changes everything for me, thank you

  7. Appreciation, discussion, and overall base for Anna Biller's The Love Witch (2016)

    MV5-BMj-A5-NDEy-Mj-Qw-NV5-BMl5-Ban-Bn-Xk

"Elaine, a beautiful young witch, is determined to find a man to love her. In her gothic Victorian

apartment she makes spells and potions, and then picks up men and seduces them. However her spells work too well,

and she ends up with a string of hapless victims. When she finally meets the man of her dreams, her desperation to be loved

will drive her to the brink of insanity and murder. With a visual style that pays tribute to Technicolor thrillers of the ‘60s,

THE LOVE WITCH explores female fantasy and the repercussions of pathological narcissism."

  9. Okay, I finished the finale-finale!

    Spoiler

The entire last episode cuts were so fast and the entire thing was completely rushed. The last scene in particular, while visually pleasing, just didn't go with the series that I'm lowkey kinda mad about it. :noparty:

The OG aunts being featured beforehand was very cool tho, loved that.

Despite some disappointment, it's still one of the few shows I've enjoyed and held close to me. I'll miss it :poordat:

ah it's been a while since then. I actually watched the series and spoiler alert, it was actually ok. I definitely think that the first season was real great, and it kinda ended a bit boring imo... I think they were trying to do so much so quickly. I heard about Witch Wars and was excited for that, but the comics won't be the same... it kinda turned into a mini riverdale w witches.. have u finished it?

I didn't realize your reply was from last year lol.

I'm hoping to finish the second half of the last season this month since the Netflix price is going up in March :rollin:

I agree that the first season was amazing! I actually feel that with a lot of shows though - that or my attention span decreases over the seasons for a show haha. I can def see the Riverdale comparisons but imo the dip in quality with Sabrina isn't as drastically bad as Riverdale (I don't know whats sadder, how corny it's gotten or the fact that I still watch it :')

I watched season 3 and it was very tough to get through. Things got complicated and there was too much going on.

Overall, season 1 was actually pretty decent. I love it.

Season 2 was meh at best, Miranda was an absolute headache but still bearable.

Season 3 was just...bad. The original characters were just completely different by the end of it, and it made me pretty sad.

Hemlock Grove could've been a very good show if there were minimal writers. But by the end of it, it was an absolute clusterfuck. It's a shame because I adore the aesthetic and the entire history of Upirs and Dr.Pryce's experiments. I believe season 1 was based solely on the book by Brian McGreevy, that's why the later seasons didn't make sense because the writers were making shit up.

    Agreed with all ^

1 was really fun but 2 and especially 3 were a chore to get through. I did read the book but that was before the show came out so I can't really comment on that. I did only watch for Bill so it wasn't a total waste of time :delicious:

This series was so fascinating to start, and then I guess season 2 sorta idk. does season 3 sort of save it?

I've been such an avid lover of the entire series! Even though I've enjoyed all the seasons so far (half way through the last season - 4), there's been a lot of negative opinions, so as far as as S3 saving it  . . . maybe?

Hi anyone know where I can get this dress from when Lana was in Warsaw, Poland? I remember a very similar one being sold at an online site for a very good price and regret not getting it then. Thank you guys
