Idk about the original file you had, but that link they posted actually sounds HQ for My Type; the file I had was the same size, but the intro was cut & the audio was kind of muffled. This sounds way better!

the length it's the same and I think I can't spot any difference. Maybe I'll try run them into Spek tomorrow

Mhh...my file was 5.3MB an this one is 5.6 ? you think there are there any significant differences?

I don't think that blue cover is the official one, it's the same slime from the 5itm cover

If you look at the sketches versions the blue one was intended to have some type of water like slime in a circle around her or a wave crashing behind her. He probably used the 5ITM render in another color just to have an idea of the final product, but since the monthly singles project was stopped midway he probably didn't bother rendering the blue one.

  6. Just finished catching up 38 pages of thread in 3 days and I KNEW sumn big was up :flutter:

Is there ANOTHER Glow version? lol

Also I don't thibk Charli ever recorded OMG, even tho I could totally see her toplining it before Camila, since her delivery is very XCXesque

idc what anyone says but after revisiting sucker i think we need a comeback of punk pop charli with a hyperpop twist to it... i dont think you understand im OBSESSED

can we please stop talking about sucker poorly bc i honestly think after all these years it doesn't seem bad at all and we need Charli to think the same... it was just a weird era this exact moment of her career but it still was super fun and the general idea of that album still seems authentic to Charli... just not the outcome of what her label forced her to release and Charli's weird obsession in becoming a mainstream popstar BUT there's many gems and career-defining moments on this album!

I've been craving a Dylan produced project of that kind since Nasty Cherry's I Am King

  10. Hey Boy, Hey Girl is not it and actually never was. Thank god Charli never stained her discography with dated and poorly aged tunes like that. If she had not gone the mixtapes route she would be Anne Marie level of mediocre pop now

I had a hard time getting into Hey Big Eyes and New Normal, now I like em a lot.

Man... that 1-2-3 punch with Hit Me Where It Hurts, I Give Up and Look at Me Now
It's way too intense, it's a rollercoaster, then, fucking Insomnia (it's not a filler, it seems like but it has it's narrative purpose) ruins the vibe to me, it's too slow and lowkey to me.

Caroline Shut Up in the other hand... I just don't like it. It's cute but it would've been better as a japanese bonus track, I expected SO MUCH with that title alone.

I feel the album would've been way better with this flow:

    1. The Gate
    2. Pang
    3. New Normal
    4. Hit Me Where It Hurts
    5. I Give Up
    6. Look at Me Now
    7. Go As a Dream
    8. Ocean of tears (shaking things off)
    9. So Hot You're Hurting My Feelings (up beat after the last one)
    10. Hey Big Eyes
    11. Caroline Shut Up (i could do without it)
    12. Parachute
    13. Insomnia (nice transition)
    14. Door (epic finale)

That unreleased live song is SO good

Insomnia MUST be before OOT. It's literally like sailing through a thick mist  by night and hearing a siren chanting (there's also a waves sample by the end) and considering the MV for OOT is pirate/siren themed it's impossible not to play them back to back

POP 2 was new at the time when I went on a vacation skiing in the mountains and it never fails to remind me of that time. The frigid synths and ambience of Backseat, Lucky, Tears, Unlock It, and Track 10 especially.

And a bonus, the way Dylan Brady’s remix of BIOYL hits like POP 2... amazing. :defeated:

OMG OMG SAAAMEE. I was on vacation right after Xmas, and i was starting to gradually get into Pop2 (and overall, Charli XCX) after the wtf-ed reaction when it dropped.

And I remember very well one day when we got stuck in a snow storm in the middle of nowhere while i was blasting Backseat, Lucky and OOMH. It's such a perfect winter album, the only other one that comes to my mind like that is Ray Of Light.

album is free on youtube if youre struggling to pay for streaming

Me and my full price Spotify premium account are doing just fine with the only stream i gave this album when it came out lol.

I swear if gays don't overhype a mildly decent album each year they're not happy.

I'll check back when she'll find her own musical Identity. Or if she continues with the basic GP friendly bops like Lucid lmao.

get shygirl's name out your mouth. ALSO ALSO ALSO!!! hyperpop was NOT AT ALL started by pop 2. it was started the moment A.G. founded PCM and then danny l harle, ag, sophie, and even easyfun started making bubblegum bass/eurodance influenced music. THAT was hyperpop.

SLAYYTER, GRAVEYARDGUY, THAT KID, JAKE GERMAIN, 100 GECS, AYESHA EROTICA. THEY ARE NOT HYPERPOP. THEY NEVER WILL BE. they are simply y2k influenced electropop. not hyperpop at ALL.

hyperpop is a eurodance/bubblegum bass inspired sound and genre. it wasn't started by charli however she did popularize it. give credit to AG, easyfun, danny l harle, and sophie. they're the ones who made this sound possible.

Hyperpop is definitely NOT PcMusic as it was intended back then. Pop2, while having some callbacks to early PCM doesn't sound a little bit like it.

Also, lacking some comprehension skills I see, cause I didn't say all those artists are inspired by Pop2 sound, some are and some just borrowed from the aesthetic, like Shygirl since you seem so pressed about her.

All those artists had a very Charli derivative sound and aesthetic when they debuted, obviously and thankfully they evolved past that. Never even mentioned Ayesha but go off. But imma laugh at you saying they're not hyperpop.:lmao:

"Hyperpop is a genre of pop music which pushes pop tropes and themes to experimental or parodic extremes. It draws on dance and electronic music, and may blend elements of trance, techno, house, emo, punk rock, cloud rap, and hip hop.

If this isn't the description of 100gecs music then i guess we haven't been listening to the same artists.

If XCX World never got scrapped she would’ve probs been forced to put more radio friendly songs on there like Boys, n we wouldn’t have Pop 2. I mentioned this before but XCX World leaking and getting scrapped was a blessing in disguise. She wouldn’t have the impact and cult-ish fanbase she has now, and she def wouldn’t have been allowed to drop an album like HIFN, especially not right after she dropped her previous album (which she wouldn’t even be allowed to drop either). A lot of “””hyperpop””” artists also wouldn’t be doing what they’re doing right now. A lot of fans wouldn’t be where they’re at right now, since her music def brought people together and even fully changed lives cause, yknow, butterfly effect. She would be seen as a flop trying to get a hit, her career would be over. Yes she’d still have some of her loyal fans but it wouldn’t be the same. XCX World getting scrapped is probs the best thing that could’ve happend to her career.

Late to this party but really, Pop2 definitely started Hyperpop.

Imagine artists like Dorian, Tommy Cash, MO, Pabllo, Troye and Caroline that did a full 180 to what is they're aesthetic/sound today, without the exposure they got on the mixtape. Same for Kim and ALMA, more in a matter of exposure then of sound or image. Carly and Tove were the only two already big enough artists that didn't really get influenced by their involvement in Pop2.

Let's not even talk about the """"wannabes"""" that stemmed from mid 2018 onwards like ThatKid, Jake Germain, Slayyyter, Graveyardguy and the latest acts like fraxiom, umru, gupi, Rico, Shygirl and too many more.

Damn, even looking back at the 2017 EP by the gecs you can feel the dripping influence of Pop2 in 1000gecs & remixes.

Would XCXWorld spark such a movement and have the kind of legacy Pop2 has? Not even a bit, let's be real. And seriously, it  has aged, the type of "not shitty, but still not god tier, just good for nostalgia and mythology factor"

  16. Currently OBSESSED with HB&EQ and Super Ultra:crai::legend:

So much that I made a tribute to the SU cover in the poster for tonight's DJset. The straights don't even know the power, the influence
