she hasn’t actually said she’s doing a ‘proper’ b-sides album, she just said:

imo the song would have been better received had she not used the most generic mainstream production for it, she only sings 6 words in ‘yes no okay’ and it’s much more interesting to listen to than the snoozefest of in the city. but maybe we should let the in the city discourse be.

I'm glad she didn't go with 'desire' as the album title, 'I WANT - CHARLI XCX' would have been pretty iconic with the von dutch/360 theme of obsession though.

I think she meant specifically when they release a version with a new song so you 'have' to buy each vinyl to get all the songs on vinyl (if you're into that) but it's still lowkey embarrassing.

If she wants to share this stuff then fine but pressing tab a few times and italicising rando words doesn't make it a poem

to me it feels like she has a lot to get off her chest that she can’t put into lyrics but either can’t or won’t write a traditional memoir so this is her way of finding a middle ground. 
 

however I do think this should have been marketed as prose, ditching the hard to read line breaks and including her own doodles but i guess poetry book is a bit of a buzzword at the moment. 
 

I hope she feels better getting this all of her chest. this ‘poem’ kinda hit a note with me, as I relate to some of what she’s talking about.

5am gmt seems like a weird time for the mv premiere? it's usually 5pm gmt. I'm not complaining of course as it's less time to wait, most of which I will be asleep for, I'm just wondering if it was a mistake or something. if so please don't fix it.

obviously there’s still time for her to go, but it’s a shame marina hasn’t gone to a met gala yet.
 

I just feel like she’d actually be on brief as she isn’t scared to wear anything out of the norm (which is why a lot of people, mostly men, don’t follow the brief imo) she wore that rat jumper to fashion week and it was kinda ugly but also iconic. 

i’m hoping for a remix album too + I hope she drops the album stems like she did with hifn.

I am like 90% sure she did an Instagram story where she was making a joke about always taking a photo from the left side of her face cause of something she was insecure about. I can’t remember what she said though. 

apparently it uses her vocals and the ai vocals which would still mean she’d have to sing the vocals for the AI to process, unless anyma used his vocals instead.

i don’t think she is. i think this is just a natural progression of being literally everywhere for the last few years, to the point that she feels inescapable even offline (she’s on buses where I am).
 

people just get tired and things that were popular then switch to ‘overrated’ and we all know how fun it is to say you hated something first on the internet!
 

for a long time saying the tiniest thing about Taylor that could be misconstrued as negative rallied the swifties, so if the tide turns everything people have bottled up over the last few years is just going to come out. 

my friend was really looking forward to the poetry book, but it turns out the colourblindness they have makes the pink and orange look practically the same colour so it’s just a mouth and the black text  

(I’ve suggested maybe they can recover the book but I’m not sure they’ll be bothered to do that.)

brat isn’t going to be the type of album to win a grammy but if she did an album selling out to the commercial mainstream?

she’d have to time it right cause if it was during taylor/olivia/billie’s album cycle she, like anyone else, wouldn’t win. (it’s kind of annoying they keep sweeping, they’re talented in their own way but let someone else have a chance)

she might have a better chance with a song rather than an album but again idk.

i have to agree because tbh vinyl variants should’ve always been about different colored vinyls/covers as a fun alternative to the album’s standard cover or black vinyl. and then also a deluxe record is fine too. putting out different variants with a different song on each like taylor & olivia did…i think it’s very wasteful. 

I am SO glad she's calling this out and I hope it gains some traction. these artists (though I will say this is the label too) are just putting themselves into a catch 22 position as they'll have to keep releasing more and more variants to try and top their numbers.

I wish billboard (or whoever) would stop it too, I'm not sure how they would counteract it, apparently a load of k-pop stans were buying singles on different accounts so they reduced the amount digital sales counted for and upped streaming, so maybe that only the standard edition would count or something?
