i hope she gets better soon but i'll never get over her going to (and hosting) all those pool parties in 2021 and getting covid several times (i did wonder if her chronic fatigue was linked to long covid tbh) also marina and lana could have fallen out privately at any point, but since unfollowing each other would cause 'drama' maybe marina waited then saw qftc as an 'excuse' to unfollow her idk

I'm glad she didn't go with 'desire' as the album title, 'I WANT - CHARLI XCX' would have been pretty iconic with the von dutch/360 theme of obsession though. (edit: forgot to mention that I think brat is the best out of all the 3)

I think she meant specifically when they release a version with a new song so you 'have' to buy each vinyl to get all the songs on vinyl (if you're into that) but it's still lowkey embarrassing.

to me it feels like she has a lot to get off her chest that she can’t put into lyrics but either can’t or won’t write a traditional memoir so this is her way of finding a middle ground. however I do think this should have been marketed as prose, ditching the hard to read line breaks and including her own doodles but i guess poetry book is a bit of a buzzword at the moment. I hope she feels better getting this all of her chest. this ‘poem’ kinda hit a note with me, as I relate to some of what she’s talking about.

5am gmt seems like a weird time for the mv premiere? it's usually 5pm gmt. I'm not complaining of course as it's less time to wait, most of which I will be asleep for, I'm just wondering if it was a mistake or something. if so please don't fix it.

obviously there’s still time for her to go, but it’s a shame marina hasn’t gone to a met gala yet. i don’t think she is. i think this is just a natural progression of being literally everywhere for the last few years, to the point that she feels inescapable even offline (she’s on buses where I am). people just get tired and things that were popular then switch to ‘overrated’ and we all know how fun it is to say you hated something first on the internet! for a long time saying the tiniest thing about Taylor that could be misconstrued as negative rallied the swifties, so if the tide turns everything people have bottled up over the last few years is just going to come out.

my friend was really looking forward to the poetry book, but it turns out the colourblindness they have makes the pink and orange look practically the same colour so it’s just a mouth and the black text (I’ve suggested maybe they can recover the book but I’m not sure they’ll be bothered to do that.)

I don’t think they really ‘mean’ anything but it’s obviously something on her mind. brat isn’t going to be the type of album to win a grammy but if she did an album selling out to the commercial mainstream? she’d have to time it right cause if it was during taylor/olivia/billie’s album cycle she, like anyone else, wouldn’t win. (it’s kind of annoying they keep sweeping, they’re talented in their own way but let someone else have a chance) she might have a better chance with a song rather than an album but again idk.

I am SO glad she's calling this out and I hope it gains some traction. these artists (though I will say this is the label too) are just putting themselves into a catch 22 position as they'll have to keep releasing more and more variants to try and top their numbers. I wish billboard (or whoever) would stop it too, I'm not sure how they would counteract it, apparently a load of k-pop stans were buying singles on different accounts so they reduced the amount digital sales counted for and upped streaming, so maybe that only the standard edition would count or something?

there are only 2 official ones the ‘to be great’ one (2:24) that leaked in 2011 and the ‘to become great’ (3:22) one that leaked in 2020, there’s a pretty popular extended edit of the 2011 one, even I thought that was the real one until I dug into it.

do we think brat might be 'continuous' like a dj mix? I don't mind if it is but I just hope all the songs stop/start in a natural place, as it's annoying if you wanna listen to one song and the outro ends with like one beat of the next song. also if you don't like one of the songs that sucks too...

really curious about the rollout for this album, in both the L+F and ADIAML era she said she wanted to just ‘drop singles whenever’ so now she’s essentially free to work to her own schedule I wonder what we’ll get. (an album or a series of unrelated songs)

I love the last half of the remix but in the first part the verse lyrics don’t really flow as well as I was expecting? it sort of sounds like a demo in which they just sung some random lines to change later (sorry)

she didn’t admit to having it on 360 brat Q&A, only Botox and some other injection (not filler) so I’m hoping it’s just face tape and makeup which she was doing in the crash era, but didn’t look this extreme (feeling the need to get Botox at 31 is also sad too though! I’ve seen some unhinged mother give her literal child fillers too)
